Able Roofing

Contract signed and 50% deposit placed 20 Aug. At the time there was a missing shingle and small leak. I thought the salesman was professional and knowledgeable. Two weeks later they told me that the city required a different type of shingle, and I signed a modification for more money. Since they are a roofing company, I think they should have been aware of that before I signed the original contract. Not sure how long it took them to submit the necessary paperwork, but when I received the needed certificate from the city it was signed on 29 Sep. During that time, a storm came through which removed a few dozen more shingles. Able also failed to return my call with status of the certificate. Monday, 6 Oct I called to see when they were going to do the work. They said they would try to be out the next day. I expected a follow-up call to confirm that. Since I didn't hear from them, I stayed home the next day and when no one showed up by 9:30 I called to find out the status. After not getting an answer by 11:30 I went to work. That afternoon someone called and said someone would be calling to make the appointment for another day. The next day there was a heavy rain, with lots of water going in the garage because of the now badly damaged roof. This afternoon (Thurs), a guy calls and says "this work order just came across my desk". Apparently having my deposit for 6 weeks, knowing there is serious damage to my roof, and having me make several phone calls was not enough to get them to promptly schedule me after they got the certificate.

They did a good job, we did not have any problems. They did what they said they would do and it has been holding up well and their prices were reasonable.

They were very quick and efficient. The workers were all very skilled and they cleaned up their entire mess when they were done. I would recommend them.

I have to say they had the best price, but there were quality issues. First issue came when they didn't use 30# paper as I had requested, and was noted in the estimators report. By the time I realized the problem, 60% of roof was done. Couldn't see sense in tearing completed roof off. Rest done with 30# paper. After the work was completed, I had a spot on the front roof that looked like it wasn't finished. Was told it was done properly but no other roofs in the neighborhood had such a spot (it appeared the shingle wasn't seated properly, though that wasn't the issue). They painted to match trim. I had a drainage problem on the back side of house, causing flooding of our flower beds and workmanship on reinstalling gutter covers was shoddy. Able did fix the drainage problem and replaced the covers. So, I can't complain about their responsiveness, not their willingness to fix a problem. I just didn't feel they took great pride in their workmanship.

They definitely exceeded my expectations, which were admittedly low from my experiences with three other roofing companies. However, even if my expectations were not low, I still would think that Able did a good job.

The crew did a wonderful job especially during the winter months. They cleaned up very good of all the debris.

They were prompt, polite and they seemed to know what they were doing. I plan of having them come out to see if their was any damage done to our roof after this past wind storm.

They did a very good job of communicating everything. They did very high quality work. They were very conscientious about cleaning up their mess when they were done with the job.

Excellent job on the roof. Jim Zollinger was in contact with us to keep us informed about the entire job. He went above and beyond what he had to. The style of replacement roofing I chose was out-of-stock, and instead of making us wait for re-order and not have the job completed on time, they up-graded our order from a 30+year warranty to a 45+year warranty without us even asking. This was great service. The crew was very professional and cleaned up after the job. Also, their customer service team was very helpful answering my questions regarding the insurance payment issues. We have used them on more than one occasion.

Our insurance paid for the cost of the roof. They were very courteous when they were there working. They helped me get everything through the insurance company. They got the work done in two days.

They were very good and did a good job.

They scheduled the appointment promptly and arrived on time. Louis was friendly and professional. The estimate was just too far out of line with competition to be taken seriously.

It went OK. The first time that they came out they did not seal the chimney correctly. I was appreciative with their services this time. They gave me a discount for the work that was not done. They were prompt. They were responsive.

They were so polite. They were a wonderful crew. They were very punctual. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They had to come a second time because the shingles were initially defective when inspected.

I did have to call them about one leak but they did come right out and fix it. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend them and use them again myself if needed. They did good work.

They came out and gave me an estimate and then they came back and did it. They were very good. The work was done in the time span that they said it would be.

The work went well. They would have finished in one day, but due to the rain they had to stop. They were informative and courteous. I was satisfied with the work.

We had used this company before. We went with them again because of the good experience we had the first time. The whole job went pretty well except they had to order the skylights four times before they sent the right size.

There was a major hailstorm that came through and my roof needed replaced. I found this company on Angies List. They came out and gave me a quote that I was happy with. The color and pattern they selected went real well with my awnings. They suggested upgrades that improved the quality and integrity of the project and I agreed to go with it and am glad I did.

I liked that they came to my house to show me samples of different shingles and colors. They did take a little longer to complete the job, but that was because they had to repair the sub-roofing. I did feel that it took them a while to return phone calls. They did a good job cleaning up after they were done with the job.

We have used Able in the past for roofing, so we felt comfortable using them again. The crew that did the siding work was not as forthcoming as we would have liked. They did not take care to protect screens, and many of them were damaged in the process. Also, there were several stains left during the project both on the concrete and on the deck, which they repaired to some satisfaction, but will require further repair on my part. The crew had been admonished to be wary of all the surrounding area, and we were disappointed with their failure to do so. I realize it was a construction site, but I believe they could have been more responsible during the process. Able adjusted the price, but at this point it is unclear whether this adjustment will cover the cost of repairs. We would not use them again for siding, although we would call them for roofing repairs.

They came in to fix the roof and left it such that it rained and leaked into our house. They would not rectify the leak and they are insisting on full payment. A chair was ruined and the roof looked horrible. They had poor assessment and judgment of when the work should be done. They should have checked the weather first. We ended up having water leak into our home.

There was a project manager who left the company, and the whole project was dropped, time lapsed for 3-4 months, estimates changed from the original. They performed the work last spring of 07 and work was finalized by end of July. Basically, it took a whole year. The process was outrageous. Once sold bill of goods, they never contacted me again.

Their metal division is wonderful. It is hard to find roofing companies that do residential metal roofs. They did a nice job. Charlie was very good, and very accommodating with any requests I had.

We had a leak, after some bad hail damage. They took off the damaged roofing and replaced it along with some flashing. They were very busy and it took them time to get to it.
