+ -1 moreNeedless to say, we were panicked, especially with the forcast calling for more rain in the next few days. We made a call to Rosemary (Ro) Mentzel at Molloy Roofing, and her calm professional manner began the healing process. She and Gary Amann, our estimator, first dispatched a crew for emergency repairs, and then patiently worked with us and the numerous insurance adjustors in the weeks that followed. Finally, the ace team of Ryan Harper and Danny (sorry, I didn't catch his last name) worked through some brutally hot weeks to put things right. We were so impressed that they had ALL the skills AND the high standards needed for the intricate carpentry, copper work, rubber installation and slate work. In the end, in the ultimate test, the house looked better than ever. Lastly, I tip my hat to Dave Molloy for putting together such a team of experts. You all have my deepest gratitude. Description of Work: A tree fell on our house during a severe storm this year. The damage included over 60 slate broken, a copper box gutter with its ornate enclosure was ripped off, a rubber roof was punctured, etc. ad naueum.

+ -1 moreThe roofing job went very well. On the first day, the crew chief ( sorry I do not remember his name) made sure they were at the correct house. The crew chief and/or Ted McCane, the foreman, kept me updated on what they were doing. Ted checked on the crew and the roof every day, except the day he had to go to an OSHA meeting. Ted also checked the roof after the work was completed. The roofing crew used a dump truck to put the old roof and other debris into. After the crew left, Ted checked to make sure they did a good clean-up job. The roofing crew had a good work ethic, no messing around. They wore hard hats & used ropes to tie themselves to the roof. Cost of service includes the cost of up-grading the shingles.
Description of Work: We had continuing concerns about the original roof replacement done by another company about 5 years ago. We had other roofers assess & "repairs" were done.Still we were told to watch for leaks. Molloy Roofing was recommended to us. Gary Amann assessed our roof. Gary gave us 2 estimates: one for repairs only and one for complete replacement. Since other roofers had caulked & recaulked flashings again & again and had lifted up shingles time & again for inspection, we chose to have the roof removed & replaced. Molloy Roofing sodered areas others caulked. Caulking was not the only problem. Other problems found: 1. ice & water shield not placed over heated areas as it should have been.2. due to low pitch of roof, 2 layers of felt paper should have been used. It was not. 3. regarding areas cut for ridge vent: some areas not cut enough or not at all and some areas cut way too much which leads to water coming inside.

+ 0 moreGood, but when compared to other providers, the price was astronomically more expensive. We initially got a complete roof replacement quote and the associate added a chimney fix. We compared roofing quotes and likes where Molloy stood (we assumed their chimney quote was about middle too0. I wasn't. So, the work performed was good, Molloy got behind schedule which was annoying because we had to put off our own schedule to rearrange for theirs. The workers were good; however we would have preferred they not lounge on the roof to take breaks and use their cell phones. We were going to use Molloy for the complete roof repair, but now we are going to move on. We think we were price gouged somewhat ( a well respected, local, and accredited chimney sweep company quoted a price at $2500 cheaper than Molly.
Description of Work: Chimney Repair-outside. Complete mortar ground out in all joints, tuck pointing, crown coat seal, waterproofing.

I had just inherited the house when they died and I had a bunch of door knockers after the storm. My advice is: BEWARE of any company knocking on your door for business. Luckily, I remembered Molloy when looking at a list on here! It was like a God-wink because I had no clue what to do after all the crooks coming to my door. I am a widow so especially vulnerable. I am so grateful to Molloy's and their staff for being a good honest company.

I was surprised to find my driveway completely cleaned each evening - if it hadn't been for the scaffolding, you would not have known that anyone had been working there. The gutter itself is working better than it has for the last 30 years. I am very happy with their work, and plan to call them back for the box gutter on the other side as soon as possible.
