"My husband and I are extremely happy that we did business with The Hang Up Put Down Shoppe. We were in search of window coverings for our seasonal cabin. We had certain expectations of the way our windows should look. We brought a piece of our tongue and groove with us in order to choose a color that would blend with the window coverings. As we entered the store, we were graciously greeted. Our highly professional sales representative patiently led us through the process. We received a quote, brought a few material samples back to our cabin, and made our choice. We called to place our order and scheduled a date to be measured, which was accomplished within a few days. Our window coverings were installed a few days after they were received at the shop. They look better than we had anticipated. I have already recommended The Hang Up Put Down Shoppe as the place to go. Thank you, Amanda."

"My issues with Selmas and Zach(the owner) started right from the beginning. He was over an hour late to the first meeting I had scheduled with him. Our next meeting was scheduled at the granite yard - he never showed up at all for this meeting. We had a total of 4 or 5 meetings, none of which he bothered showing to on time. I purchase 2 slabs of granite for a kitchen counter. Selmas fabricated the counter top for me. After the cuts were made for the counter top, there were two pieces that were not needed. We had multiple discussions as to what I wanted to do with the extra pieces. In the end, I decided to hold on to them as I could not decide what to do with them. On multiple occasions, Zach said he would deliver the extra pieces to me at no charge. He even went as far as saying when he could have them delivered by. He just asked that I take care of his delivery guys. After almost 2 months of chasing him down, he has still not delivered the pieces and now refuses to do so without charging me $500. He told me that I could come pick them up whenever I felt like it. I would not use or recommend Zach and Selmas Granite to anyone."

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.
If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.
On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.
You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.
The lifespan of bathroom tile is 50 or more years, depending on proper installation and regular maintenance. Leaving installation to a pro and regularly cleaning, resealing, and regrouting the tile can help lengthen the life of your tile and save you money in repairs and retiling in the long run.
Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.
