"They refinished our 1950s hardwood floors. They covered paintings and anything we couldn't remove from the rooms and cleaned up thoroughly after the job. They educated us on what to do afterwards. The floors look beautiful once again. Excellent work, price and timing! Will recommend to our friends. So pleased!"

"This company did Perfect Job sanding and staining my hardwood floors as well as installing luxury vinyl flooring in my kitchen. Very professional. Job was done on time and price was reasonable for the labor. I also had this company resurface and stain the hardwood floors in my other property. Highly recommended."

"I had a great experience with these guys. We agreed on a fair price which they honored even after discovering the job was bigger/more complicated than initially estimated. I respect that. Second, the work itself was quality. It was a kitchen floor tiled with natural stone in a herringbone pattern. The install crew was professional and friendly too. I definitely recommend them."

We use a high-speed machine with a wet non-toxic solution to prepare your floor. Anything that comes off the floor will stay contained in the solution. There is nothing to clean up when we are done. Next, we detail the floor, then we apply multiple coats of our commercial grade sealer and our hybrid urethane finish. You can walk right on the floors as soon as we are done. Most jobs are completed in 6-9 hours

"I hired these guys to hand some items around my home such as a very heavy antique mirror. They were professional and called to let me know what time they would be there. A little pricey, but very worth it!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Sheet vinyl is among the most affordable and durable flooring options, with prices as low as $0.50 per square foot and a lifespan of 10 to 20 years. Other inexpensive and durable choices include standard vinyl plank ($2 to $7 per square foot), which mimics wood or stone and is great for high-traffic areas. Laminate flooring ($1 to $6 per square foot), linoleum, carpeting, and concrete can also be cost-effective options, with prices starting around $2 per square foot.

Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

Berber is a loop pile carpet known for its strength, durability, and distinct looped look. It can be made from a number of different carpet materials, including nylon and wool. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

You can lay your laminate flooring in whichever direction you'd like. However, you should check your materials' instructions and see what the maximum length limit is for the installation. This differs according to the brand you buy, but you can expect it to be around 40 linear feet. Depending on the size of the room, this might dictate which direction you end up laying the planks.
