"These guys were outstanding. They removed wallpaper and painted my LR, DR, hall and foyer. Peter, his business, gave an accurate estimate and stuck to it, to the dollar. The old popcorn ceiling (popcorn removed by someone else) needed skim coating and actually needed an extra coat to make my ceiling literally pristine. He did not charge me for the extra labor or materials. The team was polite, entirely respectful of my home, and extremely kind to my elderly mother. There wasn't one drop paint where it shouldn't be. Not a single streak or drip. For the ceiling work, I believe the workers were actually running to complete the job on time and with precision. My washtubs are in the basement, I don't know how many trips they made up & down! They were patient with me as changed my mind on color choices. All the guys were personable, and clearly experienced. They cleaned up after themselves and put my furniture back where it belongs. 2 days after they were done, while was rehanging pictures. the ceiling got scraped! I reached out to Peter to get the right touch up paint, and he promised when he was in the area again he would do the touch up...and he did. Great experience, definitely will rehire!"

Gary DeLuca, owner of DeLuca's painting has over 25 years experience of interior and exterior painting. Gary is hands on right from your estimate to the end of the job. His work is never subcontracted out. He will be available at all times throughout your job with any questions or concerns. In addition to painting, Gary also can assist with wallpaper removal and minor stucco services/repairs.

"DeLuca's Painting is simply amazing. I called Gary and he came right by for a quote, didn't hesitate. He looked around the house and gave me a great price for the work that needed to be done. He had a guy there the next morning and finished the job in no time at all! Extremely professional, punctual, and just great to work with. After a little miscommunication on my part (I forgot to tell him about one small side of the dormer) he was extremely respectful and came back the next morning and finished it within 20 min. I would highly recommend DeLuca's Painting to anyone that is looking. Gary is amazing and the work he does is beautiful, I'll be using him again in the future!"

"Seth Millet (owner) came to my home to give an estimate on interior painting and wallpaper removal. Stupidly, at the end of the visit, I liked his price so I gave him a deposit for the job. He was supposed to start 2 days later, but he postponed until after the weekend. The day after he postponed, a family emergency came up (my 5 year old son became very ill, my father almost died, among several other things that caused me to have to put the painting job on hold.) I called Seth immediately and asked if I could please have my deposit back because I would not be able to have the work performed at this time. He agreed to give all of my money back, as no services were performed and I had not even given him any paint colors yet so there were no supplies to purchase. This was in November, and he has STILL not returned my money ($600) and he either doesn't respond to my calls, or he sends threatening text messages to me. This is after he said he WOULD return my money, no problem!!!! This was a very valuable lesson that I learned, which is NEVER trust anyone and NEVER pay cash for a job. The word needs to get out about this scumbag and his terrible business practices. He took my $600 and ran. DO NOT EVER hire him, you WILL be sorry!!!!!!!!!"

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

It’s best to remove wallpaper rather than paint over it. You should only paint over wallpaper if removing it would damage the wall, the surface is relatively smooth, or there are minimal problem areas—such as slight peeling and lifted seams—that you can fix easily. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it can create more problems if the wallpaper is in poor condition and you don’t properly prep the area for painting. Depending on the state of the wallpaper, color, and textures could show through, and moisture from the paint could loosen the adhesive, causing unsightly bubbling.

You can paint over wallpaper if it’s smooth and in good shape. But if there are bumps or tears in the wallpaper, they’ll likely show through the paint. Similarly, you should avoid painting over textured wallpaper because the ridges and patterns in the paper will be visible. In either of these situations, you should remove the wallpaper before painting.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.

While textured walls can elevate a space in many ways, there are a couple of downsides to consider. Namely, they’re hard to clean, and some textures fall out of fashion quickly. Make sure to consider all your options to find one you truly love before diving in.

To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.
