Chris (owner of CMW Exteriors) was 100% respectful and very forthcoming on how the project would work. He had a completely no pressure approach to the quoting process- eager to get the job, but not pushy. His price was lower than the other estimates and he used the same siding product as one of the other quoted bids from a larger company. As with so many home projects, once the old siding was off we discovered additional issues (electrical wiring concealed in old siding - not so safe and now rectified) but the installation went smoothly (in a week of on and off rain). Chris was involved with his crew and kept a close eye on progress, and communication was easy. I highly recommend this company."

"I met Sean McLeod through “Angie’s” List early March, 2025. He has been to my house several times to complete an array of remodeling projects. Some were minor like building utility cabinets for the kitchen or mounting household appliances for convenience. Others were major undertakings , such as, stripping bathroom facilities down to the studs and completely renovating each room into a palatial spectacle. His project costs are competitively reasonable. "I did prep work because I knew they wouldn't do. Timing when they said they were essential, and they got shut down, and basically left my house open to the weather. Not happy with them and the town where I live. Partially the pandemic, but I know that the inspector if it was them, or family members they would have got it done. Nothing but anchors. My basement was flooded, and they remedied the problem, but it created alot more work for me and alot of lost sleep. 3 lights good, 1 I had to fix. I still have to clean up the job and I am finished. Timing and cost are not equal.Too much$ for the work performed. 12mos no interest and payment is a plus, I will pay on the last day!"

Yes, you can screw directly into stucco. Only do so if the item you are installing is a permanent fixture. Drill a pilot hole into the stucco using a masonry or concrete bit, then drive in the screw with a power drill or screwdriver.

In many areas, a permit is required to remove stucco siding, especially if structural repairs or new siding installation are involved. Check with your local building department for specific requirements and associated permit fees before starting your project. Permit fees range from $100 to $500.

Mortar, or masonry mortar, is mainly used in joints and as parging for stone, brick, or cement construction. Stucco is primarily a surface material used as wall coverings. For maintenance, masonry will need repointing or replacing as damage or land shifting occurs, whereas stucco will need patching or refinishing as it tends to crack over time along with other types of wear-and-tear.

Stucco will dry in two to three days, but you should wait one to two months to allow it to cure fully before you paint it. The curing process is slow, but leaving the material exposed to air and natural moisture will help it reach its maximum strength. If you live in a hot, arid climate, wait a month before painting. Wait two months before painting if you live in a more moderate or wet climate.
