After spending months speaking to numerous electrical companies (both large and small, commercial and residential), came across "acm electric" by chance. Mike came onsite and he spent a significant amount of time answering our questions and explaining in great detail why certain components have to be added to the cost of the project. He saved us the expense of inserting a metal grounding rod into the ground for the portable generator, turns out the generators' frame is grounded to begin with. That was honest of him and refreshing. Other electricians were too eager to put in an interlock kit but only by migrating specific circuits over to a new daughter panel as opposed to my plan of powering the whole house on the portable generator but only select appliances (oil burner, hot water heater, fridge). Their ideas would have wasted time and money and come nowhere close to what I wanted. Mike understood exactly what I wanted without requiring me to explain everything as he was well versed in the interlock kit-manual cutoff switch scheme. The day of the project, he arrived on time and did everything in three hours which surprised me as I expected power to be out the whole day. The actual downtime was only 30min and Mike warned me in advance of when it would happen. During speaking to him about the quick progress he was making, he said he had done work prior to arrival in preparation. This is a very good sign of professionalism and attention to detail. Too many contractors I've dealt with lack the parts to continue and have to run back and forth to the store, this only wastes time and adds to frustration sitting around. ACM electric was also patient in sticking around to verify the interlock kit with cut-of switch worked exactly as planned with the portable generator powering my home. He gave tips for using the generator and things to be aware of. The quote he gave was detailed and broke everything down as we had discussed, he had no problems giving us a receipt at the end and he was generous in offering any future assistance in an emergency. The only thing I would note is that Mike will likely be very busy during the day to respond to email, so calling his cell may be your only bet if you need an immediate answer.

USE THESE GUYS! Whoever wrote the negative review with an F is DEFINITELY twisting the story or only telling part of it, because I did a big job, a comprehensive electrical overhaul of my house, with these guys and could NOT be more pleased. This is the type of American company you root for: a family business built from the ground up and passed from a father down to his son. That son, Mike, doesn't an incredible job running it now and is certainly making his Dad proud with his honesty, his attention to detail, and his quality work. He made an appointment for an estimate and arrived promptly. He listened to what we wanted done, and offered candid opinions on what he recommends and thinks would be budget-friendly and fit our lifestyle best. As the job progressed and we had new ideas we wanted to add, he was always clear about what additional costs would be. He also thew some extra perks into the job, which in my opinion is great business. For example, he added an additional outlet behind where I keep the TV, so I would not have to run an ugly extension cord across the room. We were in a high-pressure situation where my old lease was up so I had to move into this house mid-renovation. Mike expedited the job, which entailed working 3 VERY long days in a row, to have everything ready when I moved in. No matter when I spoke to him, he was always courteous, funny, honest, and just an all-around nice guy. He is the type of business owner you WANT to support. The price was fair and we are very satisfied with all the work that he and the guys did. If there were A-pluses on this site, I would be giving them. I don't mean to sound like an advertisement, but we used a lot of different vendors to get this house move-in ready and these guys were by far our favorite, hence my enthusiasm. Trust me: go with ACM!

It did not go very well, the provider did not do any work, and I ended up changing it myself. Two men showed up to give an estimate. I think this is excessive. He told me he would change the fan and gave me the price, he said there are two men and that was why it was more expensive. There was no need for two men to change a bathroom fan.

Everyone I spoke to at ACM Electrical Contracting was extraordinarily courteous. The ACM personnel arrived early and promptly went to work and they continued working non-stop until they had finished the job. All my questions were answered promptly and to my satisfaction. This electrical contracting company is family operated and takes pride in the work they provide.

NOT ONE COMPLAINT...... Have used them before and have been happy & satisfied with their work. Anthony, Michael & Christine are great to work with, extremely knowledgeable, and I trust their advice on any questions I have. (which as we all know is hard to find) Punctual, Professional, Courteous...overall a delight ! ACM is now the only electrical company I would use or recommend to others. I only wish I had found them sooner!
