"They did a great job with the gutters that hadn't been cleaned in 3 years. While they were working (after a few days of rain) hey heard creaking on the roof of the garage and climbed up to discover a foot of water on the roof. They removed leaves from the spout (not part of the original estimate), drained the water and probably saved my garage. I was at work and had left a check, so they did this free of charge. Everything was clean and they were prompt in their estimate and their work. Highly recommend!!"

"Rich and Janie did an amazing job of cleaning 30+ windows in my 1801 farmhouse, that had not been cleaned in over a decade. They jumped right in and took on the challenge, and did a great job for a reasonable price. They also identified problems (e.g., broken storms, rotting wood) and connected me to another professional to address them. Highly recommended!"

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can, but you’ll need to acquire the right pressure washer tips and cleaning solutions for the job. In particular, you’ll need tips that are capable of lowering the pressure from a max of 3,500 PSI to between 150 and 300 PSI. As for the cleaning solution, look for options that are clearly marked for soft washing rather than pressure washing.

Roof cleaning isn’t a necessity, but it can drastically improve your home’s curb appeal and even prolong the life of your roof, so it’s often a great investment. It’s especially a good idea if shaded parts of your roof experience algae or moss growth, which can damage the shingles and hold water against them, increasing the risk of a roof leak.

It is not advisable to use salt on your roof to prevent or remove ice dams. It’s not only mostly ineffective but can also cause serious damage to your roof itself. Salt can rust metal, damage masonry, pit shingles, and cause runoff that’s damaging to plants and animals.

Inspect annually for damage, clean debris, and reapply sealant to maintain protection.

In most cases, it is best to leave icicles on your roof and allow them to melt naturally. You should only remove them if they are heavy enough to cause damage to your home or pose a safety risk to people below. Attempting to remove icicles yourself can be dangerous, so if you are concerned about immediate damage, it is recommended to hire a professional. To prevent icicles from recurring, you should address the underlying cause, which is often poor insulation. Long-term solutions include improving your home's insulation or installing roof heating coils.
