 + 0 moreHe knew right away what it was. He fixed it, replaced it and gave me a better control knob than what I had. He was on his way; he wasn't here very long at all. They were prompt. They took care of the problem. They were able to fix it right away. They knew what they were doing and they were extremely nice. Very professional. I never had another electrician come. I've used him in the past. I assume the price is average. I assume he's not charging more than anybody else. Like I said, they were very professional.

 + -1 moreSteve's service lacked all attention to detail, with an emphasis on speed in order to move onto the next job. Based on the price I paid, I expected a multi-hour job with things done cleanly and in an organized fashion. I got none of that. Crooked cabling on the outside of my house, screws at an angle and partially driven, and haphazard arrangement of wires entering the new panel. To his credit, when I questioned the amount I spent on labor for the short time he was there, he offered to credit me back a small portion. I gladly accepted, but would have preferred to have spent the money and receive the professional installation I expected.

 + -1 moreOK. As stated above I was satisfied with the work preformed and was willing to hire Nichols for additional work. But the interest did not seem to be there as none of my 3 calls were returned. Therefore I have found another electrician I will use for any needed service.
Description of Work: This is a hard one to rate. Nichols Electric has high Angie's List ratings and I purchased a whole house electrical infrastructure inspection from Angie's List. I was contacted pretty soon after the purchase and a day/time for the inspection was set. I also asked about whole house surge protection and was told it could be installed at the time of the inspection so I requested that service as well. The electrician showed up as scheduled and complete the inspection and installed the house surge protection. I was very satisfied with the work, professionalism and cost so I called Nichols Electric to schedule more work. However, I was never called back. I called another 2 times and still no call back.

 + -1 moreCrew of two arrived right at scheduled time. Coordinated perfectly with local electric company who were needed to shut off power at the street. Work started right away. Neat, clean, professional. Done within the expected time frame, about 4 hours. Inspector was prompt to approve the work and local electric company was also prompt on restoring power. After completion, they checked all breakers to ensure they were properly powered. Very satisfied.
Description of Work: 1) Replace main cable from electric meter to main panel inside house (40 years old, outside cover was beginning to deteriorate). 2) Install guy wire on mast riser 3) Ground the main panel to gas line 4) Install whole house surge protector
