"I must have hired 15 plumbers in the past 25 years, 7 homes, 5 cities, â ¦ Josh is the best plumber I have dealt with. He is responsive, picked up the phone in a federal holiday and scheduled a service call for the next day. He came, and the job was much harder than could be expected, corrosion on everything. But he worked meticulously through it and then was apologetic that he had to change a small bit more for a job that took him probably 4 times the norm. He cleaned everything up and the bathroom was spotless. Iâ ve already contacted with him for additional work. Josh Taber is a pro. He knows what he is doing, he is kind and courteous and he shows up when he says he will. Just Awesome. Canâ t give a positive enough review."

"Cris is very knowledgeable and a highly skilled plumber. Iâ ve seen some of his other work and it is clean and precise. He is personable, punctual and thorough. He was honest and upfront and didnâ t jerk me around.. I plan on using CAL to set up the plumbing on my wifeâ s Salon and a upstairs and downstairs bathroom remodeling for my home. I definitely recommend CAL for your plumbing needs."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, short hair can clog a drain. While you might be tempted to blame the long-haired people living with you for a clogged drain, hair—no matter the length—can combine with soap scum and leftover shampoo to create a perfect storm of sticky mess that can cause your drain to slow down.

Yes—your local septic company can clean your septic leach lines with a sewer jetter, a device that pumps high-pressure water through the lines to blast out any clogs and scum buildup. Unless there’s a clog or blockage in the lines, however, you do not need to perform this maintenance regularly. Do not attempt to clean your own leach lines, as you could easily damage them, leading to very costly repairs.

As a preventative measure, hydro jetting should be done every one to two years. However, the best practice is to hydro jet your sewer line once per year. The ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the age and condition of your pipes, how prone they are to clogging, how often the sewer line is used, and the type of waste disposed of in the system. If you frequently experience clogs or are unsure, it's best to ask a licensed plumber for a recommendation specific to your plumbing system.

If your dishwasher keeps filling with water at the bottom but doesn’t fill into the sink, the issue is likely due to a blockage within the dishwasher or drain. Regularly clean your dishwasher filter basket to ensure it’s not clogged with food, and run a vinegar rinse periodically if you have hard water to remove limescale buildup.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).
