"Excellent team led by a hands-on owner. Owner was a stand up guy with lots of experience in the building construction and heavy equipment operations fields. Thank you!"
"We came home from vacation to very stormy weather. We found that our garage wall and top corner of the ceiling where the garage meets the house was WET. We looked for someone on Angie's List to provide us with an estimate on repairing whatever damage might be up there causing this problem. Due to three top-notch reviews, we called T&T Construction on a Friday. David Turner (owner) answered my call and we agreed that he would come out at 10:00 Monday morning to take a look at the roof/siding. Mr. Turner was punctual and got straight to business taking apart our siding trying to figure out what was causing our problem. He told me that if for some reason he couldn't find the problem, that he would put everything back the way it was before proceeding. We did, in fact, have what appeared to be hail damage to our siding and roofing. Mr. Turner gave us several options for how he could proceed with the work and an estimate. We agreed on the estimate and, much to my surprise, Mr. Turner said he and the one man crew he had with him could get the house repaired by that evening. My husband inspected the roof and siding upon completion and was satisfied that they had done exactly what they had indicated in their estimate. Mr. Turner worked neatly during the job and cleaned up his equipment and other scraps VERY well after the job was done. At the end of his work, he even offered to clean fingerprints left on the new siding during installation. Upon request, he also attempted to fix a siding problem in the back of our home after the roofing job was completed, but not having any additional siding material, he was unable to correct the problem. He DID put everything back in place as it was. My husband and I were very pleased with his professionalism and work ethic and would be happy to recommend him and use his services again in the future. Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts
While building a treehouse isn’t necessarily a death sentence, damaging the trunk is one of the ways to kill a tree. If you’re concerned about the tree, opt for a treehouse support system rather than attaching it directly to the trunk. This may involve using bolts and brackets to affix the structure to the tree's branches or establishing a standalone support system that remains unattached to the tree.
While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.
Technically, most states allow tiny homes, but it depends on the definition of tiny and whether the structure is permanent. Zoning laws regarding home size and construction are significant factors. For instance, a tiny home may be legal as a recreational vehicle in most areas, but you may only install it on a property if it complies with building and zoning codes.
The most significant expense when building a barndominium is constructing the metal shell, which includes the roof, doors, and windows. Additional exterior components impacting the overall cost include metal siding and the concrete foundation.
Complex plumbing is tricky and expensive in an off-the-ground dwelling like this. By considering options like composting toilets, rainwater collection, and gray-water sinks, you save money and help the environment.
