"A and Z did wallpaper in my daughters room and did an amazing job. They were available the next day after I contacted them, brought all their own materials, and finished the job in under an hour. The wallpaper looks absolutely gorgeous you can’t see any seams and everything is beautiful!"

"From the beginning, James was very professional and thorough in providing me with details about the job. He gave me a fair estimate and the time span for the work. He and his crew arrived on the appointed date, James again reviewed the work to be done and answered all questions. His crew worked diligently the whole day with an appropriate lunch break. I provided James with the color paint I wanted for the room. It was only after he purchased the paint that I realized that it would be too dark. James was patient with my dilemma of trying to decide on a color. He personally escorted me to the paint store to be sure I would get the color I wanted. I can't believe the transformation of my bedroom with this paint job. Allstar did a fantastic job. The clean up was excellent. I am more than pleased with their work. My husband, who was away during this time, was extremely happy with the quality of the work. We will definitely use their service again.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

You shouldn’t need extra adhesive for peel-and-stick backsplash tile. The adhesive on the back of the tile sheets should do the trick. However, if you experience issues with the tile peeling or falling off, make sure the wall you’re working on isn’t textured, as that can prevent the materials from properly adhering.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

Yes, peel-and-stick wallpaper is available that’s made from vinyl—it actually is the most common material used in peel-and-stick wallpaper. Learning how to install vinyl wallpaper is far easier when you’re using a peel-and-stick design than with adhesive. You could also select peel-and-stick wallpaper that consists of paper, polyester, or natural fibers.

The color of the paint, its opacity, and the depth of the texture on the paper all affect how many coats of paint you need to apply to paintable wallpaper. You'll need at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage. Don’t be surprised if you need to apply three coats if the embossing is very deep or if you use a dark color.

No, you don’t need to apply paint primer to your wall before hanging paintable wallpaper. Manufacturers design paintable wallpaper so that the paint will adhere effectively, so primer isn’t necessary. Plus, even if you opt for a light shade of paint, you won’t have to worry about the shade underneath showing through because you are painting on a light, white surface.
