I started my new Mobile Repair Business at the request of friends and acquaintances who were impressed with the improvements I did in my home. The timing was right since my "Day Job" of managing design and construction of casinos and resorts dried up. I have always been a hands-on person with 30+ years' experience managing, observing, learning and assisting many trades apply their crafts. I treat each of my client's homes as if they were my own. I bring a wealth of product and installation knowledge combined with interior architecture design expertise. I am a "LEED Accredited Professional" (LEED AP) certified by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) able to provide sustainability expertise for those who are contemplating energy and water saving measures toward a Green home or business. For your information, I am also a licensed General Contractor in California but maintain my license on an inactive status since living here in Las Vegas for the past 14-years. My son and I have been in Las Vegas for more than 40 years. Woodworking by Maurer began in 2001 with a shop that occupied 1100 square feet; we have grown over the last ten years at a conservative rate to our current size and capabilities. We currently offer cabinet making, cabinet refinishing, cabinet repair; we do custom moldings, and can match existing molding. We have done work for home owners, contractors and builders, designers, business owners, hotels, restaurants, and banks.

My name is Danny Birkes. I have a passion for Furniture, building, refinishing, designing etc. The name of my company is the dusty dresser because i feel as though it encompass's all that I do. If you want to throw out that old dresser because it's been sitting in storage and want something nice and new to replace it, Give me a call, If you want to refinish it, give it a little bit of pizazz! give me a call! The motto for my company is "The difference between Good and Great, Is the stuff you can't see" I have worked for too many companies that cut corners, and constantly say things like... "it's ok, they won't see it" or "Just put that on the backside of the piece" I don't like that.. I am one that if I get on my knees and look at the bottom side, It looks as good as the front. No hidden undone parts. No cheap particle board hiding underneath that will fall apart and jump out at you a few months after you bought it. I specialize in building custom furniture at prices normal people can afford. I work by myself and have very low overhead, which gives me the ability to not charge an arm and a leg for mediocre work. I care about the people I work for, I want you to be happy with what you get! I do not settle for anything less than what I would put in my own house

Woodworking questions, answered by experts
The best lumber for building will be the strongest and most eco-friendly wood your budget allows. That being said, Douglas fir, pine, oak, and maple are all common building materials. Contractors will use a strong, inexpensive wood to frame a house or other structure and finer woods like mahogany for detail work.
Cedar and cypress are great wood choices for a window planter box because they’re readily available and won’t break the bank. However, there are plenty of wood types appropriate for a window flower box. Try using redwood for its natural resistance to rot, though it is on the expensive side.
Although dependent on the type and size of lumber, most 2-by-4-by-8-foot pieces of lumber cost anywhere from $3 to $6. Softwood lumber like pine falls on the lower end of the spectrum, while hardwood lumber like oak or walnut falls on the higher end. Different retailers and lumber yards can also vary in price, so it helps to shop around to compare prices.
DIY is possible, but professional construction ensures structural integrity and proper anchoring.
Carports can actually increase property value. It often only increases the value by a few %, but the value can increase if you design your carport thoughtfully and with an eye for utility. For instance, a carport with storage space or a workshop will be more valuable than one without it.
