 + -1 moreCalled Kevin on 9/17 to make an appointment . He arrived on schedule. The problem was that one of four outdoor fixtures was not lighting. I had already tried numerous bulbs which worked inside the house but not in this fixture. Kevin said it probably is a bad wire in that fixture. He removed the fixture and saw immediately that a wire was crimped an causing it to short. He repaired the wire , put the same bulb in the socket and reattached the fixture. He tested the photo cell and the light worked. Kevin kept us informed as he was working. This was wonderful in that we knew everything being done and not left just watching and wondering. Would definitely use Kevin's services again if needed and will recommend him to friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Repaired shorted wire in out door fixture. Also checked dusk to dawn photo cell.

He did and we made a scheduled appointment for 8 am Sunday morning. He arrived on time, fixed the problem and showed me how to fix them myself, and left about 45 minutes later.
Description of Work: Fixed one ceiling fan in office and 2 outside GFI plugs. Showed me where the problems were and how to fix them.

 + -1 moreI have used O'Connor Electric many times in the past. So I decided to call them again to do a small job in my bathroom. I scheduled with Kevin, the owner, to come out on Saturday morning. He came, along with an assistant, and did the job quickly and cleanly, as he always has in the past. I have always been satisfied with their service and will continue to use them for my electrical needs in the future.
Description of Work: I had two bathroom lights connected to one switch and I wanted it rewired so that there was one switch for each light.

 + -1 moreI called him, I called him, i text him, he got back to me, scheduled the appointment, did not show, drove by and then I called him again, then again, and then text him twice and he told me he would not be willing to do work in that area. I wish he would have told me on the phone that he's particular about the areas of Las Vegas he covers.
Description of Work: Kevin had done a job for before and did it well and was quick and fixed everything. I used him again on another job and it took me forever to get a hold of him. He asked that I followed up with him which I did then he finally got back to me after letting him know he was not handling the job well and he told me he would not want to work in that area. Unfortunately, I think he's a pretty good electrician just to busy and picky for a job that he doesn't want and won't get back to you if he doesn't want it.

 + -1 moreI called Tom, who responded immediately. He came to my home and immediately identified the issue that was causing a shortage in the electrical system. However, I had not closed on the home as of yet, therefore, was going to wait until I had to have him back to fix the issues. Closing was delayed several days, and I also ran into Nevada Power transfer of the account issues, which delayed me having him back out to the home, and having to reschedule several times with Tom. However, once I got all the issues resolved, I immediately contacted Tom to schedule a time for the repairs. He never returned my calls, seems like he just blew me off. I was very dissapointed, because my initial contact with him was very positive.
Description of Work: No services were performed. I wanted an estimate on several electrical issues on a new home.

He was very professional and courteous and worked around the schedule of my tenant for availability. He was prompt and fixed a light switch and replaced an overhead light in the dining room at a very reasonable price, and even emailed the invoice to me. I highly recommend him and I will definitely use him again if needed.

He did not hesitate to honor his $25 Coupon which reduced my price to an incredibly fair $60. I will use his service in the future as I feel that he is honest and fair in his pricing.
Description of Work: I had a smoke dector begin to chirp. I thought it might be the battery but as I investigated I noticed smoke coming from the wiring. I called the fire department and they notified me that there was some arcing in the wires. The fire fighter told me that it was an easy fix and that I could do it myself, but if I wasn't sure that I needed to call an electrician to check the electrical system that attaches to my smoke detectors.

 + -1 moreI am an out of state licensed residential builder and maintenance and alteration contractor for 25 years and have hired hundreds of electricians but have never been so grossly overcharged for such a simple job that only required a screwdriver and a $7.50 part that I was charged $85 for and $250 labor.
Description of Work: Replaced 2 120 breakers (Lowe's $7.47; was charged $85.00). Wired 3 outlet plugs after fishing wire 12' up in wall. Total labor $250. I could fish wire within 5 minutes.

 + -1 moreWe wanted to put in an electric cooktop and take out the gas cooktop that came with the house. Kevin made the process quick and did it in a neat way. He thought out every thing that he needed to do with this project and explained everything to us. We were very pleased with the finished project.
Description of Work: We took out a gas cooktop and replaced it with an electric cooktop. So we needed to have a 220 volt line brought inside from the fuse box outside. Had to go out and find part but that time did not effect original quote. Completed work quickly and efficiently. After he left, i was still having problem with a ceiling light. He returned and checked that out including going into the ceiling. Determined that it was a box of bad bulbs and did not charge additional for that check. All in, very satisfactory.

They were prompt, did the work and left; we were very pleased.

Description of Work: Backyard flood lights as well as pool lights would not work. Mr. O'Connor was quick to diagnose the problem - 2 GFIs were bad. He also inspected our main circuit breaker box & found it needed some minor repairs. He made a quick trip to Home Depot & was back in less than 30 min with what he needed to complete the repairs. He also upgraded the covers on the switches to current codes & cleaned the main box. His work was first class & we will definitely call him the next time we need electrical repairs.

 + -1 moreKevin is professional, very communicative, and efficient. He chatted while he did his work and explained what he was doing the whole time. He is clean, courteous, and well spoken. His vehicle is emaculate and he brought everything he needed to create a solution to my problems. He provided an invoice at the completion of his work and left a few cards so I could spread the word about finding a great electrician!
Description of Work: Kevin did trouble shooting on my address lights (which were not working). He quickly found the problem -- it was an issue of connectivity. He found the photocell and checked it for issues, he found that the splices were older and not that crisp. He fixed that in just a few minutes. Next, he retested the low-voltage transformer and the connections to the same. They too were improperly installed (by a previous handyman). Kevin straightened out the wireing and tested the lights. After the lights were working (however, flickering with touch on the address side) Kevin fixed a shorted wire on the assembly and retested. Nevertheless, the whole thing took less than an hour -- as Kevin was finishing up, he even anchored the whole light assembly (which was an issue beyond his responsibility). They now work perfectly!

 + 0 moreIf you need an electrician, you don't need to look any further through Angie's List. I also scoured Angie's List looking for the best reviews and the least complaints. Let me save you the trouble by highly recommending Kevin :) I left a message for Kevin in the morning and a few hours later, he returned my call. After discussing what I needed done, he came over right away. He got to work immediately and although I only called about replacing a badly wired ceiling light, I added on the smoke alarms, because I forgot I needed those done as well. No problem, he said, and quickly finished the tasks. He was professional, friendly, and easy to talk to. I have no doubt that he could handle any household electrical task that may arise and won't hesitate to call him in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced a badly wired ceiling light that tripped the circuit when turned on and installed/replaced 5 hardwired smoke alarms.
