"Hoover’s was the ONLY one to get back to me and rather quickly. I decided to go ahead and use them. Aaron and Marcos were very professional and polite. Cleaned my HVAC ducts, exhaust vents, and my dryer vent (which was really dirty btw) in a timely manner and put everything back on when they were done. They cleaned up after themselves and even covered my stuff with plastic as they went. They took off their shoes as they came in and put down towels on the corners of furniture and the walls to avoid damaging them. Not sure if they were the cheapest option but they were the best option in my opinion. I’d definitely use them again. Thank you Marshall for answering me back and Aaron and Marcos for taking care of my vents."

"Horrible customer service and the product is only getting worse over time. I have ordered 16 shutters from them over 5 separate orders during the last two years. A recent order late last year came with parts missing and getting replacement parts was a hassle because I had to provide pictures. How do you provide pictures of missing parts? My most recent order arrived without the mounting strips and blocking strips being pre-drilled. I received the screws and screw covers but no holes for them. After multiple back and forth with "Angie" from customer service I was forwarded a poorly spelled response from their supplier stating "usually" they don't pre-drill holes. Usually? All of my other shutters over the last two years were pre-drilled. I was then told it was my fault because this order was a single panel shutter vs all my previous orders being dual shutters and I would have to pay to get replacement strips with pre-drilled holes in them. What does a single vs a dual shutter have to do with whether or not holes are drilled in hanging and blocking strips?"

"I spoke with Dave on the phone, and he sent Shawn out to inspect. Both were courteous and professional. Shawn listened carefully to my description of the problem odor and when it happened. He checked walls for moisture and other indications of possible mold. Although he did not think there was mold based on his examination, I opted for air samples to make sure. The initial evaluation was free - cost was for the air samples and analysis. Analysis of the samples in the lab showed that there was not a mold problem. Shawn helped me troubleshoot for other possible sources of the problem."

"We hired Busy Bees to clean our home for moving out. I let Margot know of the square footage of the home ahead of time. The initial quote was 4 hours with two people at $340. 8 hours, 3 people later, $770 price with taxes later, none of the baseboards were clean, the windows weren't cleaned, the fridge still had stains on it, and the kitchen floor was dirtier than how we initially had it (footprints that weren't cleaned up), the home wasn't swept or mopped, the windowsills weren't properly cleaned, and our kitchen rod was tossed out for some reason. When I asked why so little was done, Margot said they tried their best. They state they spent 4 hours on ONE restroom alone that wasn't even fully cleaned. They charged us for lunch break that they obviously took (there were Burger King wrappers on the floor), and we still had to pay full price."

A quality deck stain lasts 2 to 5 years, depending on the type of stain, weather exposure, and how well the deck is maintained. Transparent stains may need reapplication sooner, while solid stains tend to last longer. Regular maintenance, including cleaning and sealing, will help extend the life of your finish.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. You can paint a deck with either a roller or a brush, but rollers are more common because they’re faster. There are benefits to using a brush, though. Brushes offer more control than rollers, so it’s a worthwhile route if you don’t mind spending more time on the job. The fastest way to paint a deck is with a sprayer, but they’re more expensive than rollers and brushes and more likely to result in an uneven coat.

The best paint for full sun exposure is high-quality acrylic paint that contains many natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. You'll also want to go for a neutral color like gray, beige, or white, as these colors absorb less heat compared to darker or more vivid colors.

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.
