We had to postpone a couple of days due to the freezing weather early January. I wasn't home the first afternoon they came but was impressed there was no mess or other evidence they had been there, just the first layer of cement in the places needed. I was home  the second day they came and they laid down protective tarps in all the area's where they were working.  The crew of four knew what they were doing and were very fast and efficient. They covered the cement with the first stucco layer and were gone before I realized they were done the color nearly matched and I was impressed.  It turned out they had missed one crack, and when I let Alvaro know, they fixed it while working on the other areas.  The third day they finished up and painted the repairs to match the original stucco perfectly.  They provided a one year warrantee on workmanship and labor, which was important to me because of the time of year we were making the repairs.  I was very impressed and I literally cannot tell where the repairs were made. The finish matches perfectly.  I would highly recommend BluSky.

"First the contractor has a very good team of workers; all the workmen were very professional and cleaned up after themselves, which is much appreciated. They did an excellent job  and did extra things to make sure it WAS done well.  it is obvious they take pride in doing a thoroughly good job.  The workmen were on the job promptly each morning, excepting when it rained and no outside work could be done, worked steadily through the day and returned every day until the job was completely done. (This is important because in the past, we have had experiences with other contractors  wherein there was very  spotty attendance of workers and the job dragged out frustratingly for weeks and weeks.) The color application is perfect, and the house looks charming again. The contract manager and staff stayed in contact to make sure all was going well and was sensitive to any inconvenience to the customer. He was very easy to work with and responsive to any additional work requests. We feel that making sure the client is happy with the job is of utmost importance to this contractor. Our neighbors have come over to see what was done and are very impressed, as are we, that the house exterior looks so good! And we have confidence that their warranty of 5 years is more than adequate.
We are so pleased with what Santa Fe Stucco and Roofing has already done, that we have hired them again to do the interior refurbishment of the house, which is another significant contract.
What is really nice about Santa Fe Stucco and Roofing is that they are an overall contractor that can do stucco work, roofing work, exterior wood refurbishment and also interior work, like plastering, repairing holes in walls and painting. I feel very pleased to have a good contractor to do all the various things needed to upgrade and renovate a house instead of having to work with  several different contractors to get it all done.

"The project involved building two walls, adding a door, building a closet, matching texture and painting. I got three bids on the project. PT'S bid was about half the price of the other two contractors. I was a little skeptical but selected PT and I am very happy that I did. PT completed the project in only four days. One contractor told me it would take two weeks. I was also extremely happy with the quality of workmanship and materials. Both were top notch. I was also impressed with the punctuality and courtesy of the workers. I always felt comfortable having them in my house. Overall I am very happy with PT'S work and would recommend them for other remodeling projects, particularly for anyone on a tight budget as I was."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

In many cases, professionals can completely remove certain types of smoke damage from walls and ceilings, but it’s only possible if the damage is minor. For more extensive damage from major fires, you’ll likely need to replace the damaged materials entirely. Some items, like upholstered furniture, are much trickier to clean and might need to be replaced even if the smoke damage is minimal.

The list of what removes caulk residue includes rubbing alcohol. In some cases, rubbing alcohol can also help remove water-based caulk. However, old caulk or caulk that’s in layers from years of upkeep and projects might prove to be too much for simple rubbing alcohol and may require a caulk-removing solution from a home improvement store.

With patience, you can often save a dried paintbrush. Soak the bristles overnight and clean the brush as you would any other time. You'll likely have to repeat the cleaning steps, including soaking, more than once.

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

There are times when you should remove all exterior paint before repainting. This includes when you need to get rid of lead-based paint (which should be done by a pro), or if you need to apply a different finish than what’s already there. Your house may also have too many pre-existing layers of old paint, in which case you’ll be better off getting rid of the old layers first.
