I have Sears warranties on all my appliances. They have gone downhill, they used to be an 'A' They came in September for my freezer, they didn't return, to finally fix it, till mid-October. For certain things like refrigeration, freezer, lawn mower service, snow blower and all that, they don't have enough people that they've hired anymore that are on contract with Sears to show up. They said, "Okay, we can be there in two or three weeks." That is what they say to you now, they used to be, "We'll be there this week or next week." It is kind of ridiculous. They do not have the people. I'm paying a lot of money for my warranty with Sears, only because it's easier for me to call somebody to come. I told them I'm not renewing the warranty. Some are up in 2018, some are up in 2021 because I had renewed it for another five years. But the service is not good anymore. When they come to fix things it's fixed, but it takes them forever to come to do the job. They came to figure out what was wrong, they ordered the part, the part came in two days, but it took them two weeks to get there the first time from when I called for an appointment. The part came in two days after he was here and it took another two weeks to get an appointment for them to come back to put the part in. It cost nothing because I was under warranty. I have extended warranties on everything. To show up on an appointment they're usually good. They give you a big window. Usually they will call and then they say, "We'll be here in an hour." They've never canceled.

The service and the part about showing up has gone downhill. Before, it was 'A's on everything and from then till now it has gone to a 'C' It has to do with them not giving you an appointment and showing up in a timely fashion. If you have a washing machine, you can go use a laundromat, if you have a freezer, what are you going to do with your food? There are some things that you can wait for, but there are some other things you can't, they should be on the emergency list. I have a husband with handicapping conditions. Not right now, but he was on insulin and so that has to be refrigerated. They're using sub-contractors and they still don't show up. I think because they put their regular people that aren't Sears on first.

They're on a high end but not the top. Everything was great. The guy was very professional. I fee very comfortable knowing that they are only a phone call away. They're very responsive. He did try to sell me a few things I didn't need so I thought that was unnecessary.
Description of Work: I have a contract with Sears for heating and AC. I bought the furnace through them and I bought the annual servicing contract.

It was fine. Where we live, we have all these stores around here so we are real lucky and I can get the same appliance in any of these stores and I chose them based on who has a sale and who delivers it for free. They all have good service, every one of them and at the time the microwave that I wanted happened to be in Sears. Sears is a reliable store; there is no getting around it. Sears is good.
Description of Work: I got an over the stove microwave from Sears. I have bought other things from Sears over the years. I bought a vacuum cleaner, garage door opener and other things.

My washer and dryer, I purchased it in 1987, if a part failed they come out under warranty and they replace it and the 2 appliances are still fine in their way. It can be economical to run than the newer ones but so far it's still working. They are excellent, they know the machines inside and out. I have a recurring problem with debris, in a certain amount of time there's a debris that kind of float in the wash water and they take out the tub and they clean the outside that kind of part that you can't see because it's very accumulated soap or something, they clean that off and they recommend a certain monthly maintenance, it's call Afresh, it's a bleach-based thing that cleans the hidden parts of the machine and keeps it running smooth so they don't accumulate anymore.
Description of Work: I used Sears and it was for the washer and dryer. I have an extended warranty and they service it whenever I have a problem.

While I did not yet purchase the items I will return to this Sears.
Description of Work: I was looking to purchase a gas range and visited Sears after doing some online research. The sales person was very helpful and showed me the applicances I was considering. One appliance was not in the showroom so he showed me the specs and info and priced the range for me. When I showed him the lower price I had found online he immediately agreed to match that price. I decided to wait until after the Holidays to make the purchase but will defininitely return to Sears.

We purchased our appliances at Sears because the salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. For that alone, the experience was worth it. We tried Lowe's and quite frankly, they should not be in the appliance business as their salesmen were not knowledgeable about the product and were barely engaged in the conversation. The sales part was a smooth transaction and we caught a good sale. The issue with Sears is the post sales experience and the installation pricing. We needed to change our installation date. Apparently Sears has gone offshore with their help desk. The connection quality to their customer center is poor, and apparently the comprehension of my request was misunderstood twice as we received calls for confirming delivery dates that were incorrect. The installation is done by two different crews that arrive at two different times. This bazaar experience consisted of two guys that came at 8:30AM to install the microwave and another that didn't show up until 7:30PM to install the oven. When the oven guys arrived they gave me a hard time about taking away my old oven even though I had paid the fee to get it done. They said the morning crew was supposed to take it and they always neglect to take it because it's hard work. Well after we got that out of the way, they were professional with the installation but it was an awkward moment for the oven removal. The price on the appliance was very competitive. However, the fees tacked on by Sears are unreasonable. $199 for microwave installation, $69 for delivery of the oven, $20 for gas line installation, $10 for removal. So my $1500 oven purchase turned into an $1800 oven purchase.

The township came to check on the furnace and said he was installed improperly, it failed the home inspection. So Sears had to came back out to fix the furnace.

We looked at for these items at couple of places before going to Sears. We were able to get everything at Sears instead of going to different places. They delivered when they said they would. Handling was great, there were no scratches. Everything was in place. Quality of service at Sears has always been good, they always backup anything that wouldn't go along. They are professional else I would have gone for a different sales person.

There was a small problem while setting up the treadmill which caused it not to store properly. We made arrangements to solve the problem and Sears accommodated me very well. In the end it all worked out good.

HAVE ALWAYS USED SEARS FOR CAR CARE MAINTENANCE. ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL AND NEVER PUSHES PEOPLE TO CHANGE THINGS THAT IS NOT NEEDED. NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH SEARS. ALSO THEY PROVIDE EXTRAS SUCH AS FREE TIRE ROTATIONS FOR THE LIFE OF TIRES, ETC.
Description of Work: CHECKED AND REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AFTER WE WENT THERE FOR A FLAT. GAVE US ADVICE ON TIRE THREADS BEFORE DOING ANY WORK. WENT THROUGH ALL TIRES TO PICK BEST ONE FOR A SPARE. BALANCED AND ALIGNED TIRES TO SPECIFICATION.
