Prompt return of phone call. Convenient scheduling. Showed up on time and fixed problem. Charge was reasonable. Overall met expectations which was a pleasant surprise since this was our first experience with Angie's List.

We eventually used the electrician recommended by our builder with similar price. But I am sure Mike will do a good job if we hire him.

He did nice work and did it quickly and I have no complaints.

The listed Michael Malfettone on Angie's List is NOT the electrician who showed up. The senior Michael Malfettone is the one with 30 years of experience whose electrician license number is listed on Angie's. The junior Michael Malfettone, the son of the senior, is the one who showed up. He looks like he's about 30 years old so you can readily assume that he's not the one with 30 years of experience. When I asked him about it, he said that Michael Malfettone was his father and served as an advisor/consultant to him on jobs. Junior did a good job and came with helpers who made the diagnosis process more expedient than if he was by himself. The only problem I witnessed was that he was not thorough in his explanations of the problems and quickly became a bit impatient when I did not understand. I'm not an electrician and know very little about how electrical things work in my household. Also he did not respond right away the second time he came to my home to repair a lighting fixture. But overall, I still think he solved the problem and appeared to know what he was doing. I paid $80/hour for the first service call for 2.5 hours, which came to a total of $190 minus 5% for the Angie's List discount. The second service call which was a follow up to the first cost $80.

I received three estimates from electrical companies in the area. Mike was the least expensive and earliest available. He began on time. Due to the demands of storm repairs, he was not able to return the next day, but was there the day after and completed the work the following day. He was able to arrange an inspector soon after and we were reconnected by PSE&G the following day. In all, from start to finish, his work took about three days. The work was excellent and the materials used, of high quality. He and his crew were professional and attentive to concerns.

I contacted Mike via Angie's List and received an email response within an hour. Mike came by that same evening to review the work to be done and provided a written estimate via email later that evening. After reviewing several estimates from other electricians, I went with Mike because of his responsiveness (via email, text, and phone) and because his estimate included the cost of plastering wall holes created during the job. On the day of the job, Mike and his brother Jason arrived on time and began working right away. They made sure to keep me posted on the progress and were willing to answer any questions that I had. Mike also made sure to consult with me on positioning the fan/lighting to match my needs. They finished the job that afternoon and everything looks great and works perfectly! In addition, as they were finishing up, Mike suggested that some outlets in the bedroom might need to be changed to straight outlets (since the wiring for the ceiling fan was hooked up to a switch that had previously powered an outlet). Mike had to head to another job that day but offered to come back if I found any other affected outlets. I did find one other affected outlet, and in the meantime I also noticed that a three-way switch wasn't working properly and asked Mike if he could take a look at it too. As promised, Mike came by and fixed these minor issues quickly a few days later. If you are looking for a reliable, responsive, and efficient electrician, Mike is the best choice! I will certainly be calling Mike first if I ever have any future electrical needs.

Professional and responsive, Mike had me ask beforehand if my condo management required insurance & permit, which I didn't even know it could be an issue, gave me an accurate estimate, showed up on time and finished the job quickly. He suggested the fan to use based on my needs and, after numerous showers, I can say it works beautifully and I have no condensation at all, which is very important to me since I want to install a wallpaper in the bathroom. Very satisfied.

Mike was one of the first companies to respond with an estimate. They were prompt, caught things I hadn't seen, and performed the work quickly.

He came when he said he would and after checking several things found the problem and fixed it. He removed the ceiling fixture and located the problem and repaired the wires. Great job!

Ever since the work was done incorrectly, I have had a very difficult time finding any contractor that would take the job. Mr. Malfettone himself gave the estimate and oversaw all of the work done on my home. He responded promptly when I had questions after the job was done, and followed up where he said he would. It was an enjoyable experience working with a true professional.

He did it very fast and was able to make suggestions that really helped.

They were very responsive, courteous and prompt. They did the job on schedule and at the cost they estimated. I would definitely recommend them and hire them again.

We had a very old electric service so we had to upgrade it according to the 21st century. The price was great. He did everything he was supposed to do. He got the permits and did everything in the right way. He does not call you back. I have tried to hire him again but he is too busy and he has not yet called me back.
