"When He came to see the word site I just gave him an idea of what I wanted. When he came back with the design he knew exactly what I wanted. When my kitchen was done I was ecstatic he did such a great job that I hired him to do the rest of the house. He is now working on the bathroom I canâ  t wait to see the results. Another word Iâ  m very happy with his work."

"She was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She truly helped bring my restaurant to life through her thoughtful designs and creative recommendations. Her turnaround time was fast, and she made a genuine effort to incorporate all of my ideas into the final result. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and collaborative designer/architect."

"These contractors arrived early, were very professional, did a fantastic job at installing our over the range microwave, and even cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend this company, and will use them again in the future."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

It’s unnecessary to tip holiday decorators, and most professionals won’t expect it, but it’s a nice gesture to show your appreciation for their work. If the expert goes above and beyond to keep your delicate decorations safe, or they’re hanging your exterior lights and putting out lawn decorations in freezing temperatures or inclement weather, a tip between 10% and 20% of your total will be appreciated. Large jobs that include interior and exterior work are also good opportunities to tip, especially if your expert is performing a rush job close to the holidays.

Many people, including professionals in the field, use baluster and spindle interchangeably to describe the vertical components of a railing (or technically, a balustrade). However, there are subtle or distinct differences, depending on who you ask. The most common interpretation is that spindles are thin or delicate versions of balusters.

Professional holiday decorators are used to working with homeowners with varying needs, so the services can include nearly anything related to holiday decorations. Some services you might want to consider include the following:

  • Exterior light hanging

  • Other exterior decorations

  • Exterior tree decorating

  • Interior tree design and decorating

  • Removing holiday decorations at the end of the season

  • Packaging decorations after removal

  • Holiday decoration storage

It depends on the scope of the project and your confidence in your own design capabilities. If you’re simply replacing a few appliances or want to change the cabinetry, you most likely do not need a designer. If you’re doing a full reno, you should bring in a pro unless you have a very strong design sense and want to spend hours laboring over the various technical details.

To help the designer understand your vision, provide room dimensions, photos, and a list of needs or preferences.
