"Our experience working with Tom was great from initial estimate to completion of work. He listened to what we wanted and gave suggestions. He was the only contractor we met with who offered to "customize" our kitchen by building us additional cabinets. Other contractors were only willing to come in and reface what was already existing. Tom has excellent customer service and is focused on making the customer truly happy with the end result. He immerses himself in your vision and delivers your dream kitchen. He takes great pride in his work and respects your house while going above and beyond what he is contracted to do. He is a hard worker and has a work ethic you hardly see anymore. He was always on-time and reliable. He is also the most honest and trustworthy contractor I have worked with throughout this whole remodeling project. Such a pleasure to work in my home and he made my kitchen look like new! I would definitely hire him again in the future and would recommend him to others."

Small jobs welcome

"I hate being condescended to. Listen to what I want and then give suggestions on how I might be able to work that out in my kitchen. Don't just tell me it can't be done. I felt like I was wasting my time. I asked about a particular type of closet (not realizing it was part of a bigger cabinet...how would I know) and she told me to follow her (using her finger to me like a child) and said I couldn't have it because it was as part of a bigger piece. She could have just said that. I said if I can't make my kitchen more "usable" (less wasted space), WHY to with custom cabinets. I could just reface. The woman behind me who was waiting to ask her a question said. Listen, if you can't get what you want, I don't blame you for not spending the money. It's easy to reface. So, I called another company and, low and behold, I'm getting partial refacing and partial custom cabinets. He came and we discussed HOW I could get my carousel cabinet (uh - he suggested I go from a double to a single sink - easy peasy) AND, he came in at half the price your website suggested I might pay. It is really nice to be listened to...especially when it's MY money I'm spending."

"I had the pleasure of hiring Mayron to restore my water-damaged kitchen. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent craftsmanship surpassed all expectations. They seamlessly put walls and cabinets back together, installed new lighting and tile, and painted with precision. Impressed with their work, I also had them redo my bathroom. The team was punctual, friendly, and their exceptional skills made the entire process stress-free. I highly recommend this painter for top-notch painting, and renovation services."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

By using high-quality materials and finishes that endure daily wear.

If you don't sand your cabinets, the new paint or stain won’t adhere properly, impacting the final finish and leading to peeling, chipping, or a sloppy result that won't stand the test of time. Sanding removes the old finish, smooths imperfections, and gives the new coat something to grip. Without it, you will waste your time, money, and effort.

Properly maintained, resurfacing typically lasts 5-10 years. Factors like surface usage and exposure to chemicals affect longevity.

On average, it costs about 30% to 50% less to reface than to replace custom or semi-custom cabinets. However, the most affordable cabinet replacement projects tend to cost about the same amount as the average cabinet refacing project. These are replacement projects that involve pre-made stock cabinet styles rather than custom designs.

It is cheaper to paint kitchen cabinets than to replace them. Painting costs range from $400 to $1,300, based on the size and complexity of the project and the average costs in your area. In contrast, replacing kitchen cabinets can cost several thousand dollars, including materials, installation, and potential modifications to countertops and plumbing.
