"Tony the handyman was great. He took less time than quoted to complete the job - a large dog kennel w/tarp roof -had all his own tools, and cleaned up all the boxes, wrapping, and debris after he was done - just amazing and a great guy to talk to, very knowledgable and experienced in his trade."

"I had a great experience with Freedom Framing! Matthew was very easy to work with and did a great job for a great price! Matthew is not only a great carpenter he is a very good project manager, ensuring the supporting contractors needed to complete the work arrived on time and performed top quality work. I would strongly recommend him for any construction work needed. I will be calling Matthew for the next project on my list! Excellent job Matthew! Thank you very much!"

"This started out as a snow removal contract to keep our 600â +â driveway clear of snow over the winter, but has since turned into moving help and construction of a bonus room, stairway, and assorted other help. We have developed a close working relationship with the personable owner of this company, even entrusting him to look after the property when we are away. We highly recommend Darren for snow removal and all general contracting work. He has quickly become a friend."

"They should up on time. Was very professional and cleaned up the mess after they where done. I thought it would take all day and they where fast. Im amazed with the job they preformed. They also helped me move one piece of furniture from the second floor to the basement. I am going to ask them to come back to help with yard clean up. Great crew of guys."

Childproofing questions, answered by experts

A professional childproofer will first survey your home to identify potentially dangerous locations, including stairs, cabinets, and pools. Once approved, your professional will order and install the safety equipment for you.

Some ways a childproofing professional will make your home safe include:

  • Anchoring large furniture

  • Installing safety gates

  • Installing safety latches on cabinets and drawers

  • Covering railings that could trap a child

  • Covering electrical outlets

  • Installing a swimming pool fence

  • Removing or covering electrical cords where possible

Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are designed to be safe for use in homes with children. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the electrical slots when not in use, which helps protect children from electric shock if they try to insert an object. While they are the safest option available and highly effective, it's important to note that few things are truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug. For this reason, it's best to use tamper-resistant outlets over less effective solutions like plastic covers, which can be removed or pose a choking hazard. Always supervise young children around any electrical outlets or devices.

In many cases, you can DIY home childproofing with success. You can purchase childproofing tools like cabinet locks, outlet covers, and table-edge guards and install them easily.

However, it's best to have a professional childproofing service work on larger projects like pool safety or furniture anchoring. These safety measures can take a lot of time and effort to DIY, plus, you want to ensure the tasks are done correctly to keep your child safe.

The average cost of childproofing services is $410. This cost can range from $190 to $630 or more, depending on the size of your home and what services you need.

The location of the childproofing additions also plays a vital role in the overall cost. For example, a bathroom is relatively small and costs about $150 to fully childproof. However, if you have a swimming pool, you could spend as much as $1,500 to $10,000 to make it entirely safe for small children, including adding a pool fence.
