We are based in Litchfield, New Hampshire. We are a full service landscaping contractor that services New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Our success has been achieved through exemplary customer service, creative designs, and a desire to build an outdoor addition you will enjoy for a lifetime while adding value to your home. Nowak Landscape Construction was established in 2003 and incorporated a year later. Nowak Landscape Construction has created a reputation for quality, value, and integrity. We utilize a staff of four employees in addition to owner Brian Nowak on every job site, making customer satisfaction the number one priority. Customer referrals are our best advertising because of our great attention to detail. We build one job at a time, never leaving one to start another. Prior to the founding of Nowak Landscape Construction, Brian spent ten years as a construction superintendent for a road construction firm in Northern Massachusetts. That experience in addition to his certifications from the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute (ICPI) and the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA) along with his memberships with the NHLA and the BBB make Brian uniquely qualified to design and build the project that you desire. Nowak Landscape Construction is fully insured. Our insurance coverage includes workman’s compensation, commercial general liability, and automobile liability.

"Nowak Landscape Construction built a front walkway and a raised patio with a retaining wall in our backyard. The build process was extremely well engineered, taking into account the unique slope of our property and ensuring every detail was perfect. Before the build the team consulted us on designs to incorporate the black accent pavers. They installed lights into the sitting wall that create a wonderful ambiance for nights by the fire. I can't thank them enough for the fantastic work from start to finish!"

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

Foundation settling is normal and expected if just a small amount of settlement occurs within a year or so after construction. This usually results in hairline cracks in the foundation, which aren’t typically a problem. If settlement occurs years after construction, unevenly under your home, or results in signs of structural damage, then it could be very serious. Foundation stabilization and drainage system installation to fix unnatural settlement can cost tens of thousands of dollars and compromise the structural integrity of your entire home.

Signs of structural damage include foundation cracks, roof leaks, bouncy floors, crumbling concrete, and cracked or leaning chimneys. Structural damage can make itself apparent in various ways, and sometimes, there may not be obvious signs. Inspect your foundation and roof annually to stay ahead of potentially serious structural problems.

Yes, all basement floors crack in response to the natural settlement of the soil around them and from concrete shrinkage as it cures, and you’ll see hairline cracks as a result. However, you should keep an eye on your basement floor to see if cracks continue to lengthen or widen or show signs of water intrusion. In any of these cases, the problem is likely not settling or shrinkage, and a professional repair is necessary.

Yes, it is worth repairing concrete cracks. Concrete cracks are normal, and they can be hard to keep from appearing. However, it is worth repairing cracks in concrete for many reasons. For example, it’s possible to repair concrete to the point where the repair is almost invisible. Also, if the crack is left alone, it can become bigger and more expensive to fix over time.

The most cost-effective foundation repair is using masonry patches and sealants to seal foundation cracks and offer some support to prevent further damage. These methods are used to fix minor foundation cracks quickly. However, they’re not suitable as a long-term solution, and they only offer minimal stability. On average, masonry patches and sealants cost $500, but a sealant like an epoxy crack injection can total over $2,000. If you’re handy and only looking for a temporary solution until you contact a local foundation repair contractor for a more permanent one, you can save hundreds by DIYing this repair.
