We take a different approach to things and like our customers to have comfort, confidence and piece of mind. So unlike other contractors we don't typically ask for 50% upfront. We typically bill in 1/3's. Some jobs will require all material be paid upfront with 1/3 of the labor. So 1/3 upfront, with 1/3 paid in the middle, and the final 1/3 at the completion of the work. For complete remodels, renovations, basement finishes, and new construction we offer a free air duct cleaning when we are done with the job. This is not just our way of saying thanks, but also for health reasons for our customers.

What is a home Inspection? A home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property (as delineated below), performed for a fee, which is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components defined by these Standards that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector. The scope of work may be modified by the Client and Inspector prior to the inspection process. I.The general home inspection is based on the observations made on the date of the inspection, and not a prediction of future conditions. II.The general home inspection will not reveal every issue that exists or ever could exist, but only those material defects observed on the date of the inspection. Areas inspected in a general home inspection: 1. Roof 2. Exterior 3. Basement, Foundation, Crawlspace & Structure 4. Heating 5. Cooling 6. Plumbing 7. Electrical 8. Fireplace 9. Attic, Insulation & Ventilation 10. Doors, Windows & Interior From International Standards of Practice for Performing a General Home Inspection - InterNACHI http://www.nachi.org/sop.htm#ixzz2SBGOp2QK My Promise to You Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods and yes, different pricing. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector's own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you. Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Neglecting mold growth on wood can result in various issues that deteriorate its appearance and jeopardize its structural stability. The mold's ability to multiply and expand can disintegrate the fibers of the wood, weakening it further. In addition, the allergenic spores and mycotoxins released by mold can pose health hazards through inhalation or contact. Ignoring the mold's presence allows it to thrive, increasing the likelihood of spreading to other surfaces and requiring extensive and expensive measures to control in the future. Addressing mold on wood promptly is crucial to preserving its condition and safeguarding the health of those around it.

Mold is a fungus that typically grows in warm, moist environments, which is why it's so often found in bathrooms, attics, and under sinks. It survives by digesting decaying organic materials, which makes it very helpful for removing dead plant matter around the world. However, if it starts eating away at your drywall, window frames, and flooring, it can harm your home and your health.

Usually, when you have mold, you will notice that your indoor air quality isn’t what it should be. You might notice dank odors, for instance, coming from your carpet, and it may feel damp or spongy. Or you may find that your family members are showing more allergy symptoms than usual, from coughing and sneezing to itchy, watery eyes.

And, of course, if you’ve recently experienced flooding or you live in a particularly humid environment, that’s a good sign you’re at risk for mold growth.

When you smell something, it’s because the particles of what you are smelling are floating through the air. If you smell mold, it means that it’s airborne, and whether or not it’s harmful depends on the type of mold. It’s very hard to tell the difference between molds, even with the internet to guide you. Call a professional as soon as you see mold, they will test it, remove it, and make sure you aren’t breathing anything harmful.

Although mildew is less harmful than mold, that doesn’t mean it’s safe. Breathing in even small amounts of mildew can cause serious health complications, especially in those with weakened immune systems. If you find any mildew in your home and can’t completely remove it easily (and there are elderly or sick people living there) you should call a professional right away.
