"Tree Works was professional from start to finish. I had left messages with two other local trees services and neither bothered to call me back. I am so glad they did not call back and that I found Tree Works instead! Sheryl in the office was great to work with. She was able to schedule us for same-day service and kept us updated for when to expect the crew to arrive. The next day, Sheryl followed up to make sure we were happy with the job performed. I am very pleased with the job performed by Anthony and his crew. They were professional and upfront about the plan and pricing. They cut down several dead trees at a very reasonable price. I am so glad I found this company because I know I will need tree work in the future. I will definitely use them again!"

"We hired Signature Decks and Patios to design us a new Patio.
They came up with a great design and a affordable price that meet our budget. We did shop around but the design was what sold us.
They were able to start before the starting date which was great for us. The job took 4 days with a crew of 5 men. The patio was approximately 650 sq.ft. There was a bench around the fire pit and a Arbor over the sitting area. Were so happy with our new patio. The construction crew and the team leader was a treat to work with. Everything was done before the completion date which was good for us because we had company over the holidays.
A enjoyable experience. Will use again to landscape around it in the spring.

"We recently had Vision Pros build a custom deck for our home, and we couldnâ t be happier with the results! From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, their team was professional, attentive to detail, and highly skilled. They helped us design a deck that perfectly fits our space and lifestyle, offering great suggestions along the way. The craftsmanship is outstanding â you can tell they take pride in their work. The materials they used are top-quality, and the deck feels incredibly sturdy. The project was completed on time, and they kept the worksite clean throughout the process. Weâ ve already received so many compliments from friends and neighbors. If youâ re looking for a company that delivers excellent service and beautiful results, I highly recommend. We love our new deck and are excited to enjoy it for years to come!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.

As with patios, there are many types of deck choices to choose from to add personalization to your home. Some common deck options include:

  • Attached decks are anchored to the home and include simple ground-level options or multi-level structures with stairways and separate landings.

  • Detached island decks are not attached to the home; they’re a freestanding structure in the yard.

  • Wraparound decks connect the back of the house with at least one other side and often are built with railings for safety.

  • Multi-level decks connect your deck through varying levels of elevation, featuring landings that are attached to stairs.

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place.

What goes under your floating deck depends on your preferences. Some homeowners put landscaping fabric underneath their decks to prevent weeds from popping up through the boards. Others choose to build a floating deck over grass or gravel. However, it’s best not to set your deck directly on the ground. Instead, set your deck on blocks to keep it elevated enough to prevent moisture from rotting the wood.

Yes, transforming a deck into a sunroom is an absolute possibility. Building a sunroom involves framing in the deck area with walls, adding windows, and affixing a roof. This project is not an easy task, but it does provide a stylish addition to your house. Not all deck designs support this type of renovation project, so consult a professional deck builder before beginning.
