Description of Work: Punctual, courteous , wore shoe covers which I really appreciate & performed the job efficiently which probably was most important to me.He answered all my questions & was very helpful & was not in hurry to do the job & leave.I thought he provided great service & would use again in future. Also appreciated Angie's Listig deals-I use them frequently I used Big DEAL to replace an old garbage disposal that was leaking badly.I bought the brand I wanted from store & Streamline came to replace & take away the old one-he madr sure everything was work.Steamline was also very flexible when it came to scheduling as I had to cancel once due to conflict with work schedule & they were very accommodating.

It went very well. Chad arrived on time, introduced himself and the company, examined the broken/leaking faucet and then replaced it. I observed him during the work and he was competent and professional. I was very satisfied with the quality of his work. After the work was finished, Chad asked if he could inspect the water heater, toilets and indoor faucets. That part went very well. I felt he provided a very fair assessment of my plumbing. There were a few minor issue that might become more urgent in a few years, but he did not try to up sell me on any additional work, unlike other plumbing companies.
Description of Work: I got the big deal for outside faucet replacement because my outside faucet had cracked during the very cold weather in January and February. Chad, the technician, replaced the faucet and then did a complete inspection of the rest of the plumbing.

Chad and Billy came out to the house after purchasing an Angie's List deal for a water heater flush and refurbish (including annode rod replacement). From the minute they stepped into the house they made me feel like a valued customer even though it was my first time using Streamline. They explained everything they were going to do in detail regarding the water heater. They also checked all of the other faucets, toilets, and showers in the house while they were here. In addition, they found the water pressure coming into the house in the crawl space was low so they adjusted it up to a normal pressure. I am glad that I purchased this deal because for $179 I now know that my water heater is working correctly and should extend its life.

Both faucets still leak AND the serviceman actually left the water running through the second faucet which I found after coming home from an errand -- the water had been running for an hour or more. So, in addition to the check I wrote for upwards of $150.00 (can't remember exactly), there was extra water bill to pay. I HATE to leave a negative review and have tried repeatedly to call the company to discuss making this right. The calls are answered by machine except that the machine is full, and the message says to call back later. I have done so, repeatedly. I actually would just have dropped the matter entirely, but Angie's List keeps prompting me to report by email and here on the list. Now that I think about it, that's a lot of money to just "forget about." Thank you, Angie, for staying on my case!! :-)
Description of Work: Replaced two outdoor faucets: one under the "special rate" of $50.00, and a second at full price. Even charged a service call amount for the second faucet even though he was already here.

they came on time and called first to say they were on the way. they did a great job and the faucet works perfectly with no leaks. they also, at no charge, inspected the other sinks, toilets, and the water heater. they indicated that the tank to toilet washers were wearing out and will soon need to be replaced. they let us know about a program with the city of durham that will help us get a deal on that. this service was greatly appreciated. we would definitely call them again.

It was okay, they came out in August. They replaced the outdoor faucet replacement. The guy seemed real nice. They actually had to come out twice because my house is situated on a slab and I didn't realise it would take more work than it did. They had to cut into one of my interior walls to get to the pipes and stuff. (01:37,on the outside. So I had to pay a little bit more for that

YOU MUST USE THIS COMPANY :) So here is the story from start to finish, this hopefully will help some folks with the following: Conversion to Natural Gas, Buying a new hot water heater and fixing hard water and flow problems. If you want to skip to the section on Streamline specifically, I have highlighted that section below under: STREAMLINE PLUMBING In December, we were approached to covert our existing propane to natural gas. We did all of the cost comparisons and it really was a no brainer, the natural gas was going to be so much cheaper, we didn't have to worry about scheduling deliveries or shortages in propane etc. Now here is the eye opening part. It is a highly complex process to shift over. Not only do you have to coordinate with both the propane and natural gas companies, but you also need a company to come out and upfit any appliances and/or fireplaces that currently use propane. You cannot just connect natural gas to existing appliances, they have to be converted to handle natural gas. So here is the kicker. Our existing hot water heater could not be upfit to natural gas so we would have to buy a new one. In addition, we had a lot of gas appliances so each one of those had to have an adapter change. Finally, the existing gas piping in the house needed to be swapped out to handle the different pressures for natural gas. Long story short, here are the costs we incurred: New Hot Water Heater: Tankless + installation + new gas piping (NOTE: This was NOT done by Streamline, but more on that later): $4000 Upfit of gas stove, 2 gas fireplaces, HVAC: $400 each or roughly $1600 total. Removal of in ground 500 gallon propane tank: $600 So the conversion actually ended up costing us over $6000 and that doesn't include the water issues below. Just so you know, we will most likely not recoup those costs with the natural gas system for something like 10 years. So now, to the tankless system. We knew we wanted to move to this because it basically provided unlimited hot water to a degree. We had read consumer reports and done our homework and had a good brand in mind. Here is where it went off the rails. I use Angie's List literally for all my contracting work. However, in this instance, I was referred to a company by a friend who said they were great etc. Mistake #1. They were going to come in, run the new piping lines, install the hot water heater and upfit the appliances and fireplaces. Long story short, it was a nightmare, they installed two conversion kits for the fireplaces and they didn't work because the aperture on the pilot lights was supposedly not correct for the new pressure of the natural gas. So they had to fix that. They broke several pieces on the GE Profile Monogram cooktop because you have to COMPLETELY disassemble the thing to upgrade it to natural gas. This was another trip that had to be made. Finally, they installed the Tankless system. The first day we had the tankless we had enough hot water for half a shower and then the water cut off completely. They had not installed the drain pipe correctly. Make sure your contractors do this. So now we are at visit #4. They come in, fix the drain and then proceed to tell me that because of the sediment in our system, we need a whole house filter and water softener. Now, just to clarify, we had been on the existing hot water heater and well water for 8 years with no issues. Now that we have gone to a tankless system, we now need a whole house filter and water softener. Sound like a bait and switch to anyone? Just note that tankless hot water heaters are much more sensitive to sediment in your water and it can actually damage or destroy the tankless if it is not addressed. This was a hard lesson learned for us after the fact. Of course, they were happy to provide a quote for these systems for over $5600. So we are now looking at nearly $12,000 in associated costs to do the conversion to natural gas. You can imagine we were rethinking the whole process at this point. In any case, we hope this helps those of you considering converting to natural gas. In the long run, the cost of the gas is cheaper, but get a better feel up front about all of the potential associated costs so you don't get blindsided. Now to the savers of the day, Streamline Plumbing. STREAMLINE PLUMBING: After seeing the quote for $5600 from the other vendor and all of the bad experiences we had previously, I went back to our tried and true location for vendors, Angie's List. I contacted Streamline through Angie's list and then next day heard back from Becky. She has been awesome to work with through the whole process, always keeping me up to date and coordinating visits and getting questions answered. Her responses were always very quick, extremely friendly and she went out of her way to make sure we got everything we needed. Ken showed up to do a walk through of the property. Now I need to mention that there was no charge for this. They came out without a single charge and he spent at least an hour walking around reviewing the existing installation and providing recommendations. By the way, the other vendor wanted to charge $175 for these exact same services. There are some folks that you work with that you just feel comfortable with and both my wife and I felt that way with Ken. We got the sense that he was genuinely concerned with our situation and really wanted to do everything he could to make it right even though they weren't the original installers. He took a water sample and said he would get back with us on recommended steps going forward. We heard back very quickly from Becky and Ken with a quote and it was $1600 less than what was quoted us previously. They identified pieces in the previous quote that were unnecessary and were really looking out for us. They took the time to explain the quote and answer any questions we had so they could make sure we were completely comfortable with what we were getting. They wanted to come back out for one final walk through and Ken brought Jerry with him. Again, this was at NO CHARGE. Both Ken and Jerry were very professional. I was stuck on several conference calls while they were here and they briefed my wife on what they found. She really appreciated the way they took their time explaining what the situation was and she commented several times on how comfortable she felt dealing with both of them. We finalized the quote and Ken and his team came back out and did the install. It had to be done in two separate visits and each time they were able to take care of it with very minimal interruption to us and to our normal routines. On the first trip it was cold and rainy but you would never know it with Ken's attitude. He was always warm and upbeat even with the terrible weather. We now have our new system working perfectly, great hot water and flow and we saved $1600. For most of us on Angie's List, we are members because customer service and support are critical. We take the time to review vendors because we want to build a community of service providers that we can trust and know will take care of us. Streamline is a prime example of how we want our vendors to be. Professional, courteous, trustworthy, operating with integrity and genuinely caring for and looking our for their customers. When we find these vendors, we stick with them forever. Streamline is one of those vendors and they will be our one and only source for any plumbing needs in the future. We highly recommend them to our Angie's List friends and want to once again thank Ken, Becky and Jerry specifically for their hard work and dedication in making this complex project "flow" so smoothly (Pun intended :) Ken, Jerry and Becky

I purchased an Angie's List coupon from this company for an outdoor hose faucet replacement. I got a call with in 24 hours to book my appointment. I was able to get an appointment within about 3 days of buying the coupon. The faucet install took about half an hour and the plumber took time to look at other potential projects and explain other services available through the company. This company is very courteous and booking my appointment was easy.

A true professional, Jerry was thoughtful in his approach to diagnosing the problem. I appreciate a contractor who is NOT in a rush to move to next job (reflection on the good scheduling too). He ascertained the issue and was extremely careful to avoid any damage that might have been caused by moving the electric range on my kitchen wood floors. He also was terrific at answering some generic questions I had and examined my hot water heater. I got a great education and a plan for the next few months. Jerry even put on plastic booties to protect my flooring --- love that! Service and advise were quickly provided. I will be using this company again in the future and I obtained a quote on a future water heater. My dog liked him too.

They did a great job. It was sometime in late spring or early summer, around August. They were prompt, came at a time, promise to come and it was not wonder as well, I was trying to be there between 8:00 and the next day.
