Spoke with Matt on the phone who sent David over the next day at 8:00 am to give us a quote. He offered to do the job the following day but we weren't ready. I called a week and a half later and scheduled the job for the next Monday (3 days later). Two guys showed up that morning, tore the roof off, cleaned up all debris and installed in the new roof that afternoon. It is a big improvement on the old roof and we are happy.

I felt the cost was too high@ 225.00.

After the inspection roof shingles were up and he offered to come back and fix them which he did. The wording of the deal made me think that they would come back throughout the season to clean the gutters for the price of the deal which was not the case. I was not impressed with the service.

I called to make an appointment and it was for April 9th, no one showed up. I called and no one answered. I called later in the evening and they said Mr. Howard had a heart attack and they said only he had the information about appointments. He called me and said he was out of the hospital and would make it up to me. I have not heard from him since April 11th. I would not want him near my house. I feel they have been dishonest.

After a few false starts they finally showed up to replace the skylight. I was not overly impressed by the asthetics of the job, but I was on a budget and mainly just wanted the leak fixed. Because it was late in the fall we had no more rain until this spring. The first big rain this spring it leaked from the same spot it had been prior to the replacement, only it seemed like the leak was even worse. I called Howard & Sons to see if they could come out and look at it and fix the problem. I had a lot of trouble getting a hold of them (wouldn't return my calls), but finally got it scheduled for them to come out on a Wednesday while I was at work. I didn't get up on the roof to check, but I found it odd that they never called me to tell me that they had come. I found out later that they never came when it was still leaking after our second rain storm. I called them again (once again difficult to get them to return calls). They promised to come out today (5/4/14) between noon and four. I hurried home from church so that I could be there when they showed up. At about 3:00 I called and left a message that I was expecting them, no return call. At 4:30 I called again and got 'the secretary', I told her that I was expecting them to come today and she told me that he was out of town. I told her I was quite frustrated and she said that she would pass my message along to him. I still have not received a call as of 8:20pm. I will not work with Howard and Sons again and would not recommend them to anyone else.

Last month I ordered a roof inspection through Angie's List. Unfortunately, the business owner has cancelled a few times apparently due to a hospitalization and vehicle accident issues. It has been rather difficult getting a hold of the business during this process and despite offers to call me with a rescheduling, he often never calls. My roof inspection is needed soon, as we are getting our home ready to sell. I understand that if the owner is having health problems that he may not be able to complete the job in a timely manner. As a result, I would like to cancel this order (which is attributed to Angies List) and have the charge credited back to my account. Once done, I will look for another contractor through Angies List to complete the job.

Did nothing. I called two or three times to schedule an appt after I did not hear from him. Always had some excuse. Finally I have requested a refund but doubt that he will do that.

By the middle of this summer (only 8 months after they installed the gutter shields) the gutters has debris, such as pine needles, over flowing. And in addition there were trees growing out of the shields. The overall condition of my gutters was worse than it had been before. When I called to complain he told me he was out of town and I should call in about a week. When I called next he told me that given the number of trees on my property the shields he installed would probably not work well and that he would go back to check my invoice and get back to me to let me know what he would do for me. I took that to mean at a minimum he would remove the shields and perhaps refund my money. About a week later his son called and told me they could remove the shields and clean the gutters for an additional $250. Obviously I did not accept that offer and informed them that I would post my complainant on Angieslist. A few days last the owner called. I assumed that perhaps he was pressured from the threat of an angieslist complain and would offer something to make the situation right. Was I ever wrong. He actually called me to argue with me about whether or not I had a legitimate reason for complaining and put something on Angieslist. Unbelievable and totally unprofessional. I will never use this contractor again.

Contractor and crew arrived on time and completed job in a professional manner. Would use this contractor again.

The Big Deal was purchased on 2-6-2014. We played phone tag for about a month and a 1/2. By the end of March I had spoken to him and he told me he would called back to schedule that he had a lot going on in his life. He didn't. I called him one more time at the beginning of April and he told me he'd call me to call him that Thursday. I did, we spoke again he had further personal issues and was trying to find a vehicle. I forgot to call, but called on the following week. He told me he would call me back. He didn't. I feel bad but we need our roof checked !!!

I originally called and spoke to Matthew and told him that I have some leaks that needed to be fixed on a slate roof. He then explained to me that he does not charge a latter fee like most other companies and that the charge is $225 for up to 5 slates and $400 for up to 10 slates. He also stated that they automatically caulk around the chimney and add in some other pieces under the slate to help stop the leaks. I can't remember what those were called off the top of my head. So, I went ahead and made an appointment for them come out and take a look. I was told that they would be there between 8:30 and 10am. At 10:30, I called to see if they were coming. Matthew explained to me that their truck broke down and that they would be heading out to my house soon. He stated that he did not write down my phone number and could not call me even though he asked me for my phone number at the end of our conversation to set up the appointment. For this reason I rated with a B for punctuality. They arrived within the next 30 minutes in the work truck. Dave was the one who came out to look at my roof. He was very professional. After taking a look in my attic and climbing up on the roof, Dave told me that who ever fixed my roof the previous time did it wrong and actually caused there to be more leaking. I gave the go ahead to do the work immediately after I received a call from Matthew about the work to be done. I feel the communication about the work to be done could have been better. I heard Dave outside my window talking on the phone to someone saying that 8 slates needed to be replaced. A few minutes later I received a phone call from Matthew saying that 8 slates needed to be replaced or were missing. After the work was done and Dave provided the invoice, it said that only 6 slates were placed. When I asked him about it he said that only 6 were missing. I let that matter go but it made me feel as though they told me 8 to begin with because it was more justifiable than charging an extra $175 for one slate. Not to say they were trying to scam me but it did make me a little confused. This is why I rated them a B for pricing. The invoice that Dave produced did not have a heading with the business name on it. When I inquired about it he stated that they were in the truck that had broken down earlier. So, I had him write it on the top along with the phone number. I also informed him that I would like an invoice that has the business heading on the top. I also called Matthew and informed him that it made me uncomfortable to have an invoice without the proper heading. Matthew assured me that once he got back to the office he would make once and email it to me as a back up. I received a message from Matthew days later stating that he did not forget and once he got to his office he would do as he said. Still to this day I have not received the new invoice. Overall, I think they were professional. I have been waiting for it to rain more before posting this review. I have been up in my attic a couple times and as far as I can tell things seem good. I don't see any spots where I can see through to the outside. It is hard for me to tell if all the leaking is fixed due to water spots that were already there from the previous leaks. However, the major leak that I had seems to have been covered.

I had initially scheduled an appointment on March 24th, but they had to reschedule due to a death in their family. They were supposed to call me back and they didn't. So I called them on March 26th to try to reschedule again and they told me that I was their first priority to get taken care of. But again, they never called me back to reschedule. So at this point I will be getting a refund and will be going with someone else.

They arrived on time and the job is done fairly quickly.

He was pleasant and seemed to be competent.When he gave me a quote for a new roof, he indicated that he gave a 20% discount to Angie's List customers.Since a roof is such a major expense,I wanted to get other estimates to compare so I did get another quote from a highly rated roofer on Angie's list.The second quote was much less,I received a written estimate with the costs all itemized and the roofer seemed more knowledgeble and experienced.

The service was excellent. During the inspection of the roof, we told the staff of its leaking. The boots had to be replaced. They did so the following day. The price was very reasonable and it solved our water issues.

On March 20, 2014 we purchased through Angie's list a roof inspection. On March 22, 2014 the inspection was done and we were informed that one corner of the roof needed some minor repairs. We had previously had snow removed from the roof and at that time were also informed of the same necessary repair. On March 23, 2014 a representative from Howard & Sons came to the house and did the repairs. We were provided a 1 year guarantee for the work performed. and a re-inspection at no charge to be done this fall. Very please with this overall experience and would recommend this contractor.

What he did was fine. Cleaning debris out of the gutters, part of the deal, was not done since we have gutter helmets in place. I should have considered that before I ordered the service.

They did a nice job. In the deal it said that they would fix minor repairs but did not offer to fix a leak in the gutter. The gutters needed to be cleaned. They did give great ideas on what to do to fix the roof. 2 guys came out. All gutters were cleaned and inspected. Not sure if she would recommend them to friends and family becuase of the minor repair that they didn't do.

These guys did a good job and worked fast and proper. Due to some early snow we got they had to deal with my roof being mostly covered in snow with some ice, so it took longer for them to do the work, but no one complained. The crew did a good job, though I will admit they were a bit rough around the edges in terms of their overall professionalism and demeanor. I had them do the gutters and also go over the entire roof to tack down any loose nails and shingles and spot fix any issues. The total job was a little over $750 but they said if I go with them later this year in the spring/summer they can credit me part of that towards doing new roofing as ours is going to need replacement. It was more than I was expecting to pay, but knowing winter would likely not have leaks festering in our attic, it was worth it.

The contractor called me and I gave him directions to my home. Since it is a weekend place, he could do the work anytime. It was done, and I am happy.

My gutters were clogged with debris accumulated over the years. They did a fantastic job in cleaning out the debris and getting my gutters flowing again.

Overall, they did a good job and provided service at a reasonable price. We did have a few communication issues, but I think they may have been mostly due to the owner dealing with an illness. I was satisfied with the work and I would use them again for my roofing needs.

Overall, I was not too happy with them. It was very difficult connecting with them in order to arrange a date for the deal. I had to leave messages and told them I wanted service after November 1st and that 3was within the terms offered for the deal. One day in October, they just showed up at my house without my permission and started working on my house. Afterwards, I called again to tell them that I didn’t want service in October and I didn’t give them permission to do the service. We arranged a date in November and they did come. They redid the work. The owner was there with 2 other workers. The owner told me that I needed to have a boot cap for the 2 vents on my roof. He said the area was in danger of a leak. It would cost $125 each and that included installation. When he was on the roof, he noticed a number of areas that were problematic and he said he could take care of them for a total of $600 which would include the $250 for the boot caps. I didn’t wanna go through winter with leak and he convinced me with imminent danger there and he told me I needed a new roof. I told him I needed time to think about that. I need to get other estimates and to raise the money. The work turned out okay as far as I could tell. When the time came to settle up, he told me it was $600 and the tax was included in the fee. He told me to make out the check to him personally. He’s not even declaring his income as business income. Afterwards, I got online and saw that the boot caps that he sold me retail at Lowe’s and Home Depot for less than $20 each. It took minutes for him to install that. I’m not happy at all. That’s a lot of money. I’m so angry and embarrassed that I got ripped off. They scared me and I felt pressured into going along with all these other upselling. They told me to use them next year to do my entire roof. They said they would take the $600 off but I will not use them.

not much to report, he said roof was in good shape as expected. looked at flashing, hammered a few nails down, cleaned a little out of the gutter system.

Excellent! They arrived on time and performed the work with minimal involvement from us. The house gutters were clogged with lots of leaves from our wooded lot. We have had others perform this service, but not nearly as well at such a reasonable price. For the first time since we moved to our new home, the gutters don't overflow from rain and create a small pond over our back patio area. And this year was critical since we had a recent melt from our 16 inches of snow and then a return to freezing temps. I was smiling during our first rain when I heard the rain flowing through our gutters and downspouts and not over pouring the gutters. I will most definitely us their service again! A+
