"Great honest contractors. They did my bathrooms, hot water heater, unclogged my house drain and they did a French drain so my basement is not wet anymore. I already hired them to do my whole roof in the spring. I will hire them anytime."

"After the repair was done I noticed a leak in my bathroom ceiling where one of the roof vents were replaced. I called the Subcontractor Brian on a Saturday morning. The weather was cold and raining. He was at my house within the hour up on the roof and fixed the leak. I havent had any leaks since. I would hire Brain the Subcontractor again."

"Extremely dependable and did a great job. They removed a deteriorating deck and replaced it with brick stairs with rails and a concrete patio. Also made repairs to garage trim and parts of siding in front and back."

"Veterans Roofing was quite an experience. Their quote came in the "Middle" of three. The Main reason for choosing them was that upon meeting the Project Manager, Christopher G. Garrison, I Knew I could trust his judgement. He was Always on time, very professional, listened to Exactly what I wanted, then made sure it Happened!

I am a Military Wife and was alone at the time of this Project. My husband was Sure I would get "taken", which I can definitely see happening, But Mr.Garrison made sure everything was done to the Highest quality  I would place Both of these men on speed dial for any other home issues. Veterans Roofing was an overall Positive experience and would recommend. I plan on using them again!"

Awnings questions, answered by experts

You can indeed open your awning in winter. It’s a misconception that you can only open retractable awnings in the warmer months. In fact, modern awnings are strong enough to offer a little respite from the snow if you’re someone who enjoys sipping hot cocoa outside on a beautiful winter day. But if a big storm is coming, such as a hurricane or a blizzard, it’s best to close your awning until the weather calms down.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.

On average, awning costs range from $1,400 to $4,400. The low end of the cost range can be around $100 up to $7,500 on the high end. Cost factors include the type of awning, size, and location. Portable awnings are the most affordable and DIY-friendly to install, costing $100 to $400. Larger, motorized awnings tend to be more solidly built, ranging in price from $2,000 to $3,500.

Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.

Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.

Metal awnings are durable, low-maintenance, and provide shade and weather protection.
