"It couldn't have gone better. Christian and his crew did a great job, being on time, efficient, with an amazing work ethic! They were meticulous with details, very amiable and conscientious. They were incredibly reasonable and accommodating. Friends of mine who have seen the results and were astounded by the great job New Era did with painting my house. It wasn't an easy job, with high walls and precariously hard to reach decks with hundreds of spindles, but every inch was painted with perfection. I had some vines as landscaping that they meticulously painted around without me having to remove them, all the while being amazingly patient and kind. I have recommended them to several friends and if you have painting needs don't hesitate to contact this friendly, professional crew. I can't imagine having a better experience having my house painted. I'm completely satisfied with their work!"

"It took me a while to find Pro Finish Painting & Drywall, but one I did, I was very happy. They did excellent work for a very good price, and were very pleasant and professional. They cleaned up after themselves very well, and even wore masks to protect against COVID-19. I have another painting job coming up and I will use no one but Pro Finish Painting and Drywall."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

Technically, mineral spirits are a type of paint thinner, so they can be used for the same purposes. In most cases, pure mineral spirits are preferable to other paint thinners. Still, if necessary, you can successfully use paint thinners for most of the same applications, such as thinning or cleaning oil paints.

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

With patience, you can often save a dried paintbrush. Soak the bristles overnight and clean the brush as you would any other time. You'll likely have to repeat the cleaning steps, including soaking, more than once.

The best and fastest way to remove paint from a deck often involves combining a chemical stripper with a pressure washer. Gel-based paint strippers are highly recommended because their thick consistency makes them less messy and easier to apply than liquid strippers. After applying the stripper to loosen the paint, you can use a pressure washer to efficiently wash away the residue. When using a pressure washer for this task, it's important to use a low pressure (under 1000 PSI) to avoid forcing too much moisture into the wood, which could lead to mildew or rot.
