"Was in a jam at the restaurant I manage and contacted Peopleâ s to see if they could help with welding a prep table back together on short notice. In less than 24 for hours, he was out and assisting! Very friendly, and professional; did thorough work, and extremely reasonable! Passed his info along to other managers in my company for future use and will definitely use again! Thank you!"

"Jeff was awesome. I posted my request to hang-heavy duty shelving from the garage ceiling. He responded promptly. After I contacted him, he immediately sent a quote. I reviewed the quote and called him within 30 minutes and he made an appointment to perform the work the next day! How often can you say that, first, a handyman ever calls you back and, second, they make an appointment for the next day and actually show up and are on time? Jeff did all of those. He was extremely professional and courteous, too! He performed the work as described and even removed all of the product packaging at the end of the job. The work took an hour more than he quoted, but without any discussion he offered to honor the price quoted. I cannot say enough great things about Jeff and his quality of work. If you need a handyman, do yourself a favor and call Jeff first. Disclaimer: I did not previously know Jeff or anyone associated with him. No one recommended him to me. I took a chance on contacting him and it paid off."

"Sergiy and his crew are great! I am remodeling my kitchen and they completed a handful of projects for me. They care about their work quality and are very professional. Sergiy was transparent with what work was being done and the associated costs. I would highly recommend Sergiy and his team!"

Welding questions, answered by experts

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.

The average cost for a welding project is about $300, with typical costs ranging from $125 to $490. However, prices can be as low as $125 for very small jobs or exceed $1,200 for large or complex projects. Welders typically charge an hourly rate between $65 and $150, depending on their experience, and many charge a minimum fee to cover overhead and travel expenses. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including labor, the cost of materials like metal rods and shielding gas, the type of metal being welded, the project's size and complexity, and your geographic location. For a precise quote, it's best to ask a local welder for an estimate based on your specific project.

Yes, but you’ll need reliable steel-cutting tools and safety gear to get started. Shipping containers are typically around ¾ inch thick, so it’s entirely possible to cut through them, but experience and the right equipment are very important. When possible, try to get a container as close to the size you want it as possible.

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.
