Small jobs welcome

"I am what you consider elderly so have had many decks. This by far exceeds all the others. The finishing details are excellent. Would highly recommend this company. They took down a very small deck and 2 small rooms never used and have a huge deck. Pricing excellent and great crew."

Small jobs welcome

"Nate was awesome to work with! He did 2 projects for us, deck staining, and he screened in our decks. Both projects look beautiful, and they transformed our home. Nate is reliable and trustworthy. We trusted him enough to give him the code to our home so he could get in and work without us there. He does what he says he's going to do and gets out done when he says it will be done. Thank you Nate!"

Customers say: True professional

"Franco and his team did an outstanding job of tearing down the old deck and replacing it with a new deck. His work met or exceeded all building standards and he used top quality materials. He communicated well with us when he would be working. I already have him scheduled for another project. He also picked up another job from a neighbor when they saw his quality of work."

"We had an excellent experience with K&W Construction for our deck project. From the first consultation to the final walkthrough, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They helped us with the design, explained our options clearly, and stayed on schedule throughout the entire process. The workmanship is outstanding—every detail was done with care and precision. The crew kept the job site clean and treated our home with respect. Our new deck is beautiful, solid, and exactly what we wanted. We’ve already received countless compliments on it! Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

The most likely causes of a deck leaning to one side are damaged deck posts, soil erosion, and inadequate deck footings. If you’re not sure about the exact cause, the best option is to call a contractor who can build a deck to inspect the damage and recommend the best way forward.

Local building codes don’t specify the number of steps a deck can have before a railing is required, mainly because stair height varies widely. Most areas require decks 30 inches or higher to have a railing. While not exact, that roughly equates to four to seven steps.

Composite decking might cost more upfront, but it delivers value in terms of durability. Unlike wood, composite material resists common deck problems such as rotting, fading, warping, and all the other things you don’t want a deck to do. The extra processes lead to a higher price tag, but you’ll save big in maintenance costs down the road.

PVC decking tends to be cooler than composite because the material is less dense and absorbs less heat. However, it depends on the deck’s color. A dark-colored PVC deck may run hotter than a light-colored composite deck. If you’re concerned about your deck getting too hot, it’s best to stick to a light color such as beige or gray.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.
