"This was our first experience using Angie’s list to locate a local vendor to perform a service and We really lucked out getting a quote (and service) from Brandon and his team. I submitted a request for a quote on Friday and by Wednesday Brandon came by and gave a very reasonable estimate for the work that needed to be done. Two days later he brought his crew and masterfully trimmed back the crepe myrtles. Throughout the entire process, Brandon was extremely professional and always punctual. Though he is younger, the work he performed was very high level in terms of the finished product. I really couldn’t be happier with A & B Tree Service and would highly recommend them to friends and neighbors."

"Went great! Great guys and very honest too. The found my gutters were not that dirty as the guards seemed to be working very well. The guys took pictures and let me know how well the guards were working and reduced the price originally quoted. Would hire these folks again. Even though I have gutter guards it's still a good Idea to check gutter every year or two."

"It went great. Brandon had cleaned my gutters every fall to get the leaves out and blow out the underground drains. He suggested installing gutter guards. We will no longer need his services because of the new gutter guards, but I will certainly use them again if we move."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Because these two systems have different applications, there is no definitive answer to which is better. When working with sturdy materials, sandblasting is cheaper and faster, but more delicate projects require soda blasting. Before choosing either option, consider your specific needs, particularly your ultimate goal (cleaning, removing rust, prepping for painting, etc.), the material, and your budget.

Soda-blasting systems are slightly more expensive than sandblasting systems. To soda blast, you’ll need to spend a few hundred dollars for a blast hose and nozzle, a compressed air supply, a blast generator, a moisture decontamination system, and sodium bicarbonate media, a recurring cost because the powder is not reusable. To start with sandblasting, you will need to spend upwards of $30 for a blast pot, a blast gun, an air compressor, and sandblasting media, many of which are recyclable—further reducing the cost. The total cost for either will depend on the size of the system.

If you’re DIYing the project, it could take up to a week if you aren’t able to dedicate full-time hours. If you hire a professional and they arrive with a team, expect your stairs to be sanded in as little as 2 hours (for simple projects). Finishing the stairs takes a while longer as there are drying and sealing times to consider, but the actual work will take much less time than the sanding portion.

Yes, many professionals use dustless or water-based blasting methods for reduced environmental impact.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.
