"Knowledgable, personable and affordable. Only company in the area who would remove our poison ivy for reasonable price. Andrew oversaw the whole project from start to finish and was flexible with scheduling. He was able to educate us on many plants we have growing naturally on the property. His crew went above and beyond, taking extra measures and getting rid of unnecessary brush - not just the poison ivy. Would definitely recommend and/or use them again."

Sand Rock Delivery questions, answered by experts

Pea gravel is hands down a top pick for managing landscape drainage.  These small stones allow water to flow through easily by creating natural gaps that promote runoff. Beyond functionality, pea gravel also offers visual versatility. Homeowners will find a range of earthy tones like gray, brown, blue, and even red, making it easy to match with different outdoor styles and plantings.

Before you begin landscaping with rocks, put down a weed barrier or landscape fabric to prevent pesky weeds from poking through.

Yes, but lightweight furniture may be unstable due to the loose, shifting nature of pea gravel. Heavier furniture with wide legs or a sturdy base works best since it distributes weight more evenly and prevents sinking. To improve stability, you can compact the gravel more in seating areas or place furniture on top of a stabilizing mat or paver stones.

Many ways to landscape a steep slope on a budget exist. Avoiding expensive retaining wall construction is the first step. Consider creating a rocky slope with boulders or large stones, or think about planting perennials that return every year with a single investment. Transplanting small trees from elsewhere on your property is also possible and can help to stabilize steep slopes without purchasing new ones.

Although it’s not required to lay anything under mulch, it can help to put landscape fabric or plastic weed barrier down and lay mulch on top. The barrier helps keep weeds from growing up through your mulch. It also helps keep rodents and insects from burrowing into the ground underneath.
