"It was a difficult experience because it was drawn out much longer then it needed to be. The owner was very professional and friendly. He took us to the showroom to look at the tile. The workers he had, two of them were very hardworking, professional. The people he contracted out were also hardworking and good. It was a good experience except for the time. It took longer because the workers that were suppose to come out would not come out until like 4pm. It seemed like they took on to many jobs instead of concentrating on one job at a time."

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Typically, you need to wait two to three days after reglazing before using your bathtub. This allows the epoxy resin to cure properly. However, the exact time can vary depending on the materials used. Some quick-dry epoxy kits cure in as little as 12 hours, while others may have a four-hour cure time, allowing for same-day use. To ensure the epoxy dries correctly, ventilate the bathroom well. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions and consult with your reglazing professional for specific guidance on when it is safe to use the tub.

Yes. Common materials for Roman tubs are acrylic, fiberglass, cast iron, and stone resin. The choice you make can depend on various factors, including weight, cost, durability, style, heat retention, and aesthetics. Ultimately, it really depends on your space to determine the best option.

You can resurface or reglaze your bathtub, and it’s faster and less expensive than replacing a bathtub. Plus, replacing a bathtub is an extensive and intrusive process that requires wall repairs. Refinishing is an excellent option if the old one is in good working condition.

There are also options to install a bathtub liner over your existing tub. However, if you’re seeking a new bathtub with new features, you’ll likely want to replace your tub.

Refinishing reduces landfill waste, minimizes resource extraction impacts, and uses fewer raw materials than new installations.

Refinishing a bathtub is a project you can do at the same time as refinishing a porcelain sink. If your tub is the same age as your sink, consider getting a quote. Most homeowners spend about $480 on the cost of refinishing a bathtub, but it ranges between $335 and $630, depending on the size, style, and material of the tub.
