"At the outset, Alex showed up to offer an estimate and go over what needed done for our deck repair project the day after our initial communication. Then, he and a partner completed the work later that same week. Throughout, they were total pros and did high quality work and cleanup in a timely manner. Job was done on the date promised, in the time span estimated and at the price quoted. The two man team properly braced the porch roof before tearing the old column out. They built the new column on site. The team removed all tear down debris as well as the trash from the construction phase (a really big plus in my book since I have had other contractors leave their trash for me to clean up.) The contractor asked for a deposit before they began and the balance after the work was completed. I marked them down on punctuality since they told me that they would be here at 9:00 but it was 90 minutes later before they arrived and another 30 minutes before they started work. As I said above, the work completion was promised for the end of the day and they met that.

"Only one mishap and that was 1- visualizing seam that happened bc one end was measured incorrect- and even though it is basically unfixable- they came back tried to make it as perfect as possible- they did more to help than I ever expected- we are particularly compulsive people and they never treated us as job security- that was reassuring- they were using their craft to benefit my feelings n tried all tgey could to please me n my husband needs- they did great work and had the best staff"

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface countertops can be cut with standard woodworking tools like a circular saw or a jigsaw, but using the correct blade is crucial for the best results.

The recommended blade is a tungsten carbide-tipped blade, often called a solid-surface planer or triple chip grind blade. This type of blade is hard enough to cut through the material effectively. For a jigsaw, a fine-tooth down-cutting blade should be used.

It is important to note that a diamond blade is not necessary. Diamond blades are designed for harder materials like natural stone, concrete, or brick, and Corian is not a natural stone.

Using blades designed for wood is not recommended as they can cause microfractures that weaken the countertop's edges. While a tungsten carbide blade provides a much cleaner cut, the resulting edge will still be rough and must be sanded and smoothed to prevent microfractures from developing over time.
