Customers say: Quality work

"Steve came out to the house and cleared the drain, at least we thought. Once he was gone, the next day it clogged again. Steve had no issue coming back out to make sure the job was done (by the way, I am 30 miles from him). After completing it this time he stayed for a bit to make sure there were no issues. He has great customer service and would recommend him to anyone. Steve will be the first I will call if there is any plumbing needs."

Small jobs welcome

"Company is professional. Pricey compared to alternatives. Said they could deal with plumbing and HVAC, but the tech that showed up, while nice, knew little about plumbing. Did clean water out of furnace lines, but have had this done before paying about a third of the money."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

It can take anywhere from half an hour to a few hours to fix a main line clog, depending on the cause and severity of it. The job should not take more than a day to complete. Keep in mind that the main line is not the same as your home’s sewer lines (which connect to the main line and run to your house). Your city is responsible for any clogs or damage to the main line itself.

To unclog a plumbing vent, you first need to locate it. Look at your home's roofline. The plumbing vent will be a vertical pipe sticking straight up from the roof. Since this pipe runs all the way to the main drain underneath your house, you should also be able to find it in the attic.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

Yes, continuing to flush a clogged toilet is not likely to break up the clog. Instead, it will continue to put pressure on the clog while filling the bowl with more water, which can potentially cause the toilet to overflow—leading to an even bigger mess. Rather than repeatedly flushing, use a toilet plunger or plumber’s snake to dislodge the clog.

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.
