"Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"Rather than fix the issue the first 2 calls, more refrigerant was pumped into the system. This cost me $75 for each call plus the cost of the refrigerant. The 3rd time, they fixed a valve and refilled the refrigerant and I am monitoring to see if this really fixed the problem. So I am out $225 for service calls fro the same problem and the cost of the refrigerant. I think they take this approach intentionally."

Small jobs welcome

Huston’s Water Solutions specializes in diagnosing private well and rural water system problems—not selling generic equipment. We focus on out-of-water situations, low or inconsistent pressure, system performance issues, and water treatment systems that are not working correctly.\n\nEvery job starts with a professional on-site diagnostic so the real cause of the problem is identified before any repairs or equipment are recommended. Many well and water system failures involve more than one issue, and replacing parts without proper testing often leads to repeat failures and unnecessary cost.\n\nWe serve rural homes across southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas, and northeast Oklahoma, with experience in low-producing wells, pressure system problems, iron and sulfur water, bacteria concerns, and no water calls.\n\nIf you are looking for a quick phone quote or a simple equipment swap, we are probably not the right fit. If you want the problem diagnosed and repaired correctly we are here to help.

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can oversize a well pressure tank without harming your well system, as there are no major risks involved. The primary advantage of a larger tank is an increased lifespan due to less frequent pump cycling. Fewer startups and longer, slower runtimes mean less wear and tear on the system and can help conserve energy. The main drawbacks are the higher upfront cost and the larger amount of space required for an oversized tank. While not necessarily a bad thing, it is often more efficient to select an appropriately sized tank to save money and space.

Yes, it is possible to drill a well by hand, but it calls for a good deal of physical labor. Drilling a well by hand is best suited for softer soil, and it may not be possible through rockier terrain. For wider and deeper holes, companies with professional equipment make the job much easier.

Some states and municipalities restrict well pump repair and replacement to licensed plumbers and technicians, while others don’t have requirements. However, it’s always a good idea to hire a certified plumber to repair or replace well pumps and water pumps. Certified professionals are far more likely to get the job done correctly and prevent future issues, which is especially important for ensuring access to clean water for your home.

Ensures safe and effective service, restoring water flow and system efficiency.

Wells should be at least 100 feet deep for drinking water, but they may need to be deeper depending on the local geology, water quality, and your household’s water usage. Work with a qualified well drilling professional who can assess the appropriate depth for your well and test the water before drinking it.
