Tom and his assistant inspected the building after hours and found mold and then tested air and spots inside the building and compared them the background which was outside the building. He explained the process I needed to follow to correct this issue.
I received his report by email in approximately four weeks, shortly after he had received back the lab test results. I was completely satisfied with his service and advice.

We informed Tom that we were insured up to $5000 of remediation.  We told him that the floor was going to be demolished and decontaminated and that we were not interested in any unnecessary removal of spores.  We told him that we had a humidity control device in operation and a HEPA filtration unit on our furnace.  We asked that remediation within the $5000 limit of our policy would be acceptable but unless he found active fungal growth at some distant site we were not interested in some futile effort to remove the spores because the EPA advice sheet said that this was impossible./  He told us that he would decide how much remediation needed to be done and if it would cost $15000 then we were going to have to pay that.  He told us that we needed to clear our possessions off of every horizontal surface in the house and that the entire house needed to be evaluated with $125.cultures both before and after remediation and he estimated 20 cultures each time costing $5000 just for evaluation.  We told him that we were not comfortable with that approach and he said, "Too bad.  I am the expert."  As a matter of fact I spent 3 years working in the Washington University (St.  Louis) pharmacology lab doing fluorescent measurement of enzyme activity in an environment where  fungal contamination would have ruined our work.  Fluorescent measurement is 1.000000 times more sensitive than culture to fungal growth.  I also spent three years during my medical school and residency working with the lea author of the remediation planning.  That was 43 years ago.  I have kept up in the feild so " I am the expert,  not TOM ALFORD.  I deeply regret getting involved in any way with ENVIROPRO and it is apparent to me that they scam a lot of people.  ONE MONTH, after his visit we got his report.  He insisted that an e-mail was sent earlier to us and just got put in the spam folder.  However,  he was supposed to email both our contractor and our insurance adjuster.  He refused for three weeks to "re-send" the email but four weeks later he re-sent it and all of us got the "re-mail" at the same time and none of us got any sign that his e-mail was SPAM.  Watch out for this man.  His standards are far beyond the necessary.  He is giving a thousand dollar antibiotic for a viral upper respiratory infection and when the infection heals spontaneously he is taking credit for the results.
Response from ENVIROPRO
"We have struggled with the slanderous accusations brought forth by [remove member name] for an extended period of time. We have attempted to have this issue resolved through Angie’s list unsuccessfully. While we can not discuss the particulars of [remove member name] situation due to confidentiality issues, I can refute several points and invite anyone to perform independent research regarding his allegations. We never asked to perform 12 cultures in his home. The test performed by [remove member name] is not an industry accepted method for indoor air quality investigations. While it is true we collected two samples, the result of each sample was significantly different. We wrote a survey in accordance with current mold remediation guidelines. We do not perform remediation, nor do we provide costs of potential remediation activities as it is a conflict of interest. As for recommendations made, all recommendations were made in accordance with the most recent mold remediation guidelines available. I started in this industry over twenty years ago. I carry some of the highest certifications available. I have performed work throughout the country and in three foreign nations. I regularly perform expert witness services. I am a nationally recognized speaker, and I have been on a television show broadcast in several countries because of my knowledge on this issue. In order to maintain my credentials I must have forty hours of continuing education every two years. Regarding the time line of the delivery of the survey, it is true [remove member name]did not receive the survey the first time we sent the documents. Most surveys include three attachments so we do end up in some folks spam filter. We tell all of our clients if they do not receive the survey within the time frame discussed to please let us know. Since the survey is considered a confidential document we only provide the document to the client unless we have written authorization to do otherwise."

Went great. Have used them a second time to check the house we bought when we had to move out of the house we were in. We had the choice to fix the problem at our old house but we came out better  buying another house.

After interviewing several highly-rated Angie's List vendors and highly recommended vendors from our agent, we chose to go with Enviropro for our mold inspection for a couple of reasons: 1) Tom was very straightforward and didn't try to "sell" us on any services, nor did he try to scare us about the health hazards of mold; 2) his method and approach to surveying the environment seemed the most efficient and cost effective for our purposes; 3) his price was reasonable - not the least expensive, but also not the most expensive.
It's obvious Tom is knowledgeable in his field and offered a lot of good insight and advice. His work was very thorough. After the inspection, and having found some mold, we were provided with a detailed survey report along with recommendations for remediation, which helped us immensely in our decision-making.
Overall, it was money well-spent. I know had we gone with another vendor we were considering, we would've spent more than twice as much money on less effective tactics, or unnecessary tests to get probably the same results.
One minor note -- these guys can be quite busy, and I am not surprised. So if you're working on a tight deadline, be upfront about it to make sure they can meet your deadline. That was my mistake in not being clear with how quickly we needed our report, but fortunately, they were able to get us what we needed just in time! We would work with these guys again and recommend them to anyone who is in need of mold/environmental inspections.

,It went very well. They were very professional. They made an appointment and arrived exactly on time both days. There was a slight odor from the chemicals used, but I was able to open the windows to air the area out. I would certainly recomend this company.

He arrived on time and did a thorough examination of the house which included the furnace, ducts, attic, basement.  He concluded mold was not the problem but rather dust build up in carpet and duct system was the cause of the problem. He was very professional and honest. He could have had me run some tests but said it would be better if I did the rug removal and duct cleaning and then if the problem persisted to call him and he would run further tests on mold, etc. I would use him again and recommend him to family and friends

Tom arrived on time and explained to me the process he would use to take samples for testing. There was no mess with the process and he told me he would have results the next afternoon. He was true to his word and the results were ready on schedule.

Everyone that they recommended was wonderful.  Mold can be a scary thing but they made us as comfortable as they could and they told us what to do until the mold mitigators could come in and get it taken care of.  I like that they told us what to expect and I think the price was reasonable considering the peace of mind they were able to provide.

The guy was here for a while the first time he came. He was here and there and explained things to me. He told me that he knew what the problem was, but the samples would prove it for sure. He was very thorough and nice. He answered all the qu4estions I asked. He talked in layman terms. I purchased a humidifier and I asked him to fix it and he did help me with it. He told me how to use it. I rate them high overall.

Tom Alford is left handed so I immediately liked him! Tom is the man. You know it by his presence. He is bright, educated and is well versed in the science of Mold Remediation. Tom was easy to work with, easy to get hold of, punctual, courteous, honest and easy to work with. Just a great guy who is an expert in his field. Knowing you have the best of the best in his field working to help you out of a mess and into a freshly remediated home is so re-assuring. It's not easy to kick people out of their own homes (while remediation work is being performed) but Tom manages to do it with a nice balance of candor and physical intimidation! Just kidding. Tom's a big boy. Played College Football, I'm told. Tom also gave us a lot of sage advice about home maintenance (gratis) and his recommendations were spot on. Enviropro is light years ahead of its competitors. I spoke with them and they had nowhere near the knowledge nor confidence that Tom at EnviroPro had. REAL ESTATE AGENTS: If you aren't already, consider adding MOLD INSPECTION to your client's home buying checklist. This could save your buyer from purchasing a home that is environmentally unsafe...
