K&S Lawn MaintenanceKevin came out to give us an estimate and discuss our needs the day after we called, and was friendly and knowledgeable. The team from K&S did a great job removing our existing lawn, regrading the area, installing new sod, and completely cleaning up the area all in one day - and right before a couple days of rain, exactly as we'd hoped for. It did take some time to get the job scheduled due to having to wait for a locator to mark up the site; if there's any nitpick to be had, it's that we would have liked to be kept more in the loop without needing to call K&S for updates. The new sod was also a bit on the yellowish side, but that should take care of itself as the grass takes root. All in all, we were very happy with the job and will definitely hire them in the future.- David H.

Jon Gross Building ArtsJon tore out old landscaping that was overgrown or dead, redid the lighting and irrigation, did some major paving to enlarge the front porch and connected the driveway to the front sidewalk with brick pavers and then planted several new plants with various flower options to last most of the year. He also built and installed a 3 stage trellis in the front of the house that is stunning. He did a wonderful job and we have had many compliments from friends and neighbors. This is the second time we have used Shelton landscape team for a big project. Amanda is very knowledgeable and seems to be able to translate what we are looking for in to something that goes well beyond our expectations. For this project we requested a paver walkway to go from the front yard to the backyard, new tree in front yard and replace dead grass area with sod. Our yard looks amazing - especially the paver walkway. We only needed a walkway to make it more convenient to get to the backyard. But really they gave us something that added a lot of curb appeal to our house. the walkway is a work of art. The men working on it did so in a very intricate manner to ensure the pattern and slope worked well with the house and rest of yard. Everything turned out perfect, again! Recent Review:
It took over a week before they showed up and that was only after follow-up phone call on my part. They showed up unannounced the next morning. Once they arrived, they upped the bid by $75 more than the original estimate. Keep in mind, when I got the estimate on the phone, I suggested they come see the yard first. I was told there was not need because they knew the Fenton area. They no showed at least 4 times! One time I called to see where they were, at 9:30 AM, and I was told they were on their way. They never showed up! Another time 1 crew member showed up late afternoon, again, after I contacted them to see where they were. Worked for about 2 hours and then left. He never rang the doorbell to tell me that he was leaving and I never received follow up on the issues of not finishing the job. The final straw happened over the weekend. I got a text from crew lead on Saturday night saying he was coming to finish the job on Sunday. About an hour later, I got another text asking for me to pay for the job so his boss could close the books for the week. I refused to pay because of previous no shows and complete lack of communication. Shortly after that I received an additional text asking if I would pay in cash on Sunday and he would tell his boss I paid. I agreed to this and made the effort to get $250 cash for the job. He no showed on Sunday!!!! I contacted him at 11 am to see what time he was arriving. I told him we had things to do but wanted to be around at end of job to pay him. I did not hear anything back by 3:45 PM. At that time, I texted him again and told him I was done. He responded to me with a sob story about his kids crying when he said he had to go do leaves. When I asked why he didn't contact me, he said he was at church and then brunch with his family. How noble. There was not time on the drive to brunch to text me? Or after brunch? Or before I reached out to him at 3;45? This has been almost a month of frustration and aggravation. Their communication to the client is non-existent. 2 days I stayed around the house, waiting for them to arrive. Do not keep them on your vendor list! Please don't let other customer experience this inexcusable service. I have kept the text messages to document the truth to this exchange.

Finishing Touch Landscaping exceeded all my expectations! Our property had a problem of water runoff causing serious soil erosion that required some excavation, installation of an extended drainage system, installation of railroad ties, topsoil and regrading. The cost estimate was very competitive with other local landscapers and all work was done in a very professional manner. Frank Davis is more than just a landscaper; he is an experienced problem-solver and came up with suggestions that added value to the project without exceeding the budget. He has experienced workmen and makes it his business to supervise the project in person.
