"Alex did a fantastic job with a very difficult wall dog door install. He was very diligent in working through the problems that he incurred with the wall. He persevered and figured out the best way to get the job done. He involved me with any decision-making steps of the process to make sure I agreed with what he was doing. I definitely recommend him for any job you may need done."

"I initially met Brad Glass on my property to discuss the work to be done, and I took an instant liking to this experienced young man (entrepreneur). He quoted me prices based on sizes of stumps that were very reasonable. We had a total of 26 stumps to be ground down to at least 6" below grade. We scheduled when he was going to do the work, and he showed up and got started on the agreed-upon date. His equipment was near new and in excellent working condition, and he was very skilled at operating same in a professional manner. He completed all the work in a little more than one regular 8hr shift, and it was done just as promised , if not even better. He left the grind sites very neatly leveled off, and in addition he did some site clean up and debris collection on his own, for which he didn't charge me. When he presented me with the final invoice, I was taken aback at how extremely fair he had been in his pricing of the various stump sites, and I was very impressed over his detailed record keeping of each of the numbered stump grinds, with an appropriate price then attached to each. His invoice was very easy to follow, and there were no hidden charges. I had done a bit of cost estimating based on our earlier pre-construction price discussion regarding the stump size cost variation, and Brad's bill to me was quite a bit lower than my most optimistic cost estimate. The total cost for all the work he did, made the project such that we received even more than true value for our money. This was by no means a simple job, some of these stumps measured about 3' in diameter at the ground level, but thanks to Brad's skill and fairness, it became a real success. We are planning some additional large tree cutting in the future, and needless to say Brad, his equipment and crew are figuring to be important players in the clean-up operations. Now, after I have worked with Brad, and have seen what he can do, I have a lot less apprehension regarding such tough work, which otherwise can dreadful."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Most housekeepers won’t handle tasks that require specialized equipment or training, like carpet shampooing, window washing at high levels, or outdoor cleaning. Housekeepers typically dust, vacuum, mop, wash dishes, clean surfaces, and launder linens. It’s best to clarify what services are included before hiring to make sure you’re on the same page.

Yes, many companies recycle concrete, metal, and other materials to minimize landfill waste.

While leaves won’t fully decompose over winter, they will still continue to decompose, just more slowly than usual.

Ultimately, pulling weeds vs. spraying them depends on what’s happening in your yard and your personal preferences. Manual weed removal doesn’t introduce any chemicals into your landscape, targets specific problematic plants, produces immediate results, can be free if you go the DIY route, and is inexpensive with a weed service if you only have a handful of weeds. On the other hand, spraying is often preferable for severe weed infestations and situations involving difficult-to-pull weeds because it treats multiple weeds at once, is usually more effective long-term, is less time-consuming, and costs less when done by a pro.

It’s unlikely your leaves are a hazard, especially if you get to them while they’re dry. However, a couple of rare risks exist. University studies suggest that decaying leaves can produce organochlorines, toxic pollutants similar to man-made PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), so avoid keeping them in an enclosed area.

Also, leaves and compost may cause the growth of fungi that can cause diseases like histoplasmosis and aspergillosis, as well as mold spores that are unhealthy for human lungs. Again, severe issues are rare, but those with compromised immune systems or allergies to mold should wear face masks when directly handling leaves.
