"We lost our sump pump, it was not functioning. Spring River Drain and Sewer actually answered their phone when I called. They showed up within a short time. They replaced the pump and reworked the piping to work more efficient. The field crew were very respectful, worked quickly and expressed great concern that the work should be done right and at a reasonable price. It is rare to find a service company that does not gouge you and wants to do a good job for the customer. If I ever need any plumbing work done in the future, I will call Spring River Drain and Sewer."

"Pulled toilet to access drain. Reset toilet after examining drain lines from basement to septic tank. Explained findings in detail, offered opinion and options for correcting situation including continued observation. I would not hesitate for a moment to use Mr Martin again or to recommend him to family or friends. Thanks for a great job and especially on a Sunday!

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

No. You should never pour old paint down a drain or sewer because it can clog pipes and pollute the environment. You must dispose of paint properly and safely. Different types of paint need to be disposed of in different ways—oil-based paints must be taken to a paint recycling center, while you can throw dried-out water- or latex-based paints in the garbage.

When you put baking soda and vinegar down the drain, they chemically react and help break down clogs. It’s not going to work for every type of clog, however. For example, it’s not the best way to get rid of grease buildup. For grease, you should try boiling water and white vinegar instead.

It takes hair about two years to dissolve on its own in the drain without the use of any tool or help. Fortunately, using a drain snake, plunger, or any of the actions mentioned above to dissolve the hair will help get rid of the clog in as little as 15 minutes.

You’ll need to stop or pause the machine using its control panel to start the draining process mid-cycle. Remove the items inside, turn off the power to the machine, and then follow the steps above to drain the machine manually.

Yes, frozen pipes can prevent a toilet from working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which means your toilet tank won't be able to refill after a flush. This will prevent the toilet from flushing again. Depending on which lines are frozen, the ice can also block the drain pipe, preventing water from flushing away.

As a temporary workaround, you can manually add water to the tank for each flush. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try filling the toilet bowl or tank with warm water and flushing to help thaw the ice. However, the best long-term solution is to unfreeze the pipes to get your toilet back in working order.
