My salesperson was not there but I got another assoc. who told me that my salesperson should have told me that I needed these items and to have them on hand at delivery. They offered to take my name/# and have a manager call me. The mgr did not call me so I called back myself. By this time I had gone out and bought a waterline that did not work and was leaking. The mgr told me that even if I would have had the waterline on hand, if it leaked the delivery people are really not installers and they would have referred me to a plumber. I was not happy with his response, his lack of empathy, and angry that I had spent $3500 on appliances that I could not utilize properly. To add insult to injury, the stacking kit they sold me for $45 I later saw at a store for $20 (and you know the store is making money off of it at $20). It is funny to me that they managed to inform me of the things I need that they could sell (overcharge) me, but did not tell me the things I really needed.
Description of Work: My family bought a new home and needed a brand new washer, dryer, and fridge. We went to American to gather info, then returned at a later date to purchase the items. It took us about 5 minutes to pick out the items we wanted and start the sale. The salesperson asked us if we were going to stack our washer/dryer and when we said yes he offered to sell us the stacking kit, which we accepted. We were also told we need to buy an electric cord for the dryer, which we accepted and also bought at the time of sale. We were extremely satisfied with our purchase when we left the store that day. The situation started to go downhill when the delivery happened two weeks later. The delivery driver asked us if we had the vent kit for the dryer and the water line for the fridge. I told him I was never told that I had to purchase these items on my own. So the driver was unable to hook up our dryer and the water/icemaker on the fridge. I was angry and called the store to complain.

Just about every appliance has had one issue or another. While the quality of the appliances may not be American's fault, their follow up service has been poor. It has been 2 months and we still don't have everything working right.
Description of Work: Supplied kitchen appliances for our custom home.

THE SALESMAN SUGGESTED A DISPLAY MODEL THAT SAVED US SOME MONEY. WE CHECKED THE ADS LATER IN THE WEEK, AND THE PRICE WAS A LOT LOWER THAN OTHERS WE SAW ADVERTISED.
Description of Work: WE PURCHASED A HOME THEATRE SYSTEM FROM THEM.
