The Container Store

Both Elfa designers we worked with (Laura and Andrea) were patient, knowledgeable and professional. We talked through our needs and the options that would give us the most flexibility and storage for our space. One great thing about Elfa is the ability to move the components easily on your own if your needs change down the road. We ended up doing short hanging space along the bottom of the closet with three sets of shelves on top. We were offered the option of having the hardware delivered for $80 or picking up it up at The Container Store on our own. We decided to pick it up. I called ahead, pulled up to the loading area and The Container Store associate loaded it into my car. Very easy! We opted to have the system installed by Elfa contractors. Tom and Drew arrived right on time and took the time to understand what we wanted before beginning the installation. They were polite, efficient and did a beautiful job on the closet system. They also cleaned up after themselves and removed all packaging and garbage when they left. Installation took about an hour. The time from ordering the system to install was 10 days but could have been even quicker if our schedule had been more flexible. One downside is the minimum installation cost of $180 or 25% of the closet system cost, whichever is more. If you order an inexpensive system, the installation cost can be a bit steep. Overall, we are very happy with the process and the finished closet. We would definitely use The Container Store for another closet or storage system project.

I saw them on Angie's List, and then they were advertising a sale in the paper. They were fabulous, and convenient. I would definitely use them again.

At the outset, we worked with a design professional who used a computer to suggest and design the perfect closet organization that both met our needs and maximized use of the space. We were particularly pleased with how the designer listened to and incorporated our desires. Installation was not as prompt as we would have liked due to, we were told, some difficulty in obtaining some of the needed units. Once begun, the installer was punctual and did a thoroughly professional job within the promised time. Clean up was total. We did have a minor question after the installation. It turns out the matter was not critical and was in conformance with their normal procedure, but the installer promised to stop by and make the quick "repair" we requested. He never did.

They sell the product and then the manufacturer of the product also has its own installation team and the manufacturer comes out and does the installation. They are the retailers and not the installers. I can purchase now and worry about installation when we can. I had seen the product already, but my wife hadn't and then we dealt with one of the designers. We had the measurement of our closet and gave a rough some idea what we wanted to establish and then they had computerized lady design different things until we go exactly what we wanted. We were presold on the product. What tye did explain the different types of shelving and determine what we want to do with the shelving and then decide on the right kind to fill our needs. I've loved working with them and also I am aware that we were bringing them a very large project to deal with. They gave us the estimates. Of all the things we've done in the past year we are happy with them. I was expecting it to be about $5000 and I think it came to about $3800. The product is fantastic. They were here when they said they were going to be here, but that was the installer. I would use them again in the future.
