 + -1 moreSecond time I used this company. On time, good quality work and good communication. I can't tell if the price was high or low or average, since I didn't get other estimates. Because they charged the service call fee, something like $60 or so, it didn't make sense to hire someone else at that point. It was small work, installing 2 outlets, so I just went with it. Overall, good experience.

 + -1 moreThis was a major project. It took four or five days to get everything squared away. Nearly all the work was performed by Chuck Thomson, which was a blessing to us. In my opinion, there is not a better electrician in the entire state of Minnesota. We had the utmost cooperation with the Stafford office in scheduling the work. There, Peggy, is a dream. She is as customer-friendly and helpful as any person in any business of which I am aware. Chuck tore into all the bad wiring and brought everything up to code while suggecting and adding enhancements that made this old old house much more livable. Having Chuck on the job is like having an electrical consultant advising as well as a licensed electrician implementing the plan to help the client have a house that is safer and more enjoyable. All the work was done in a manner that far exceeded my expectations. But I was not surprised, as this has been my experience over many years using this firm. They are the best.
Description of Work: My daughter purchased a 100 year old house in Minneapolis that had not had good care. Whatever electrical updating that had been done was not done by an electrician. It was shoddy work and dangerous. Hence, having had excellent experiences with Stafford Home Services in the past, we engaged them to update and correct all the electrical service on three floors of this house.

I'm feeling very good about this decision to have them do the work. Will update later, but so far; terrific :) Update: The work is finished and Dave did a great and thorough job. This is an older post WWII home that needed updated wiring. He explained everything he was doing. I felt very confident in the quality of his work. Stafford is very friendly and professional. I will definately call them again.

They completed the work very fast and cleaned up any mess (and there must have been mess). At the end, it looked as though the ducts had always been there and not a bit a debris was left. Excellent work. And they were very easy to work with. Would use again.

Two weeks later they came to do the work. They ran the cables from the basement to the attic and then each room. They cleaned any dust they created and in less than three hours they were done. I'm happy with the job they performed.

 + 0 moreI CALLED STAFFORD AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. I ASKED FOR THE ESTIMATE AND WORK TO BE DONE IN THE SAME APPOINTMENT. I HAD AN IDEA WHAT THIS SHOULD COST SO I WAS READY TO MAKE A DECISION. I MOVED INTO THIS TOWNHOUSE IN JULY AND IT WAS BUILT IN 1995. MY TWO PREVIOUS RESIDENCES WERE BUILT AFTER 2002 SO THEY HAD STRUCTURED WIRING AND WERE DONE IN A TIME WHEN HOUSES WERE SET UP FOR ACCESS IN EVERYROOM. THIS TOWNHOUSE HAD A NIGHTMARE OF WIRES IN THE BASEMENT, OUTLETS FOR CABLE WHERE I WOULDN'T USE THEM AND NO CABLE IN THE KITCHEN NOR ONE OF THE BEDROOMS. I WANTED THE BASEMENT WIRING CLEANED UP AND THE TWO OUTLETS ADDED. WE ALSO MOVED THE PHONE MODEM AND INTERNET MODEM TO A BETTER LOCATION ON THE MAIN FLOOR BECAUSE IN THE BASEMENT IT WAS LOCATED UNDER MAJOR DUCTWORK THAT WAS INTERFERING WITH THE SIGNAL. THE TWO ADDITIONAL CABLE OUTLETS WERE DONE NEATLY AND THE TECHNICIAN WENT INTO THE ATTIC TO RUN THE COAX FOR THE BEDROOM. MY BASEMENT ISN'T FINISHED SO HE WAS ABLE TO RUN THE ADDITIONAL COAX IN THE BASEMENT EASILY AND THEN PULLED THE LINE TO A PHONE OUTLET THAT I SWITCHED TO A CABLE OUTLET. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM VERY PLEASED AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.
Description of Work: CLEANED UP CABLE MESS IN BASEMENT, ADDED TWO CABLE OUTLETS, REMOVED CABLE OUTLETS ON SPLITTERS NOT BEING USED.

I've never had to hire an electrician before so I turned to Angie's List and saw that this company had good reviews and I called them. They made an appointment within a reasonable amount of time and I was very happy that they were willing to come at 7:00AM so that I didn't have to take time off work for the repair. They assessed the job and gave me a rate up-front, which was nice. I used an Angie's List coupon and got $25 off my bill! I am very happy with Stafford Home Services and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: I replaced my stove and the electrical connection did not fit under the new stove, so he moved it solved the problem.

 + -1 moreSince they day we moved in, every time we used the above stove microwave, you had to make sure certain lights, etc weren't on or else the microwave would blow the circuit breaker. It was extremely annoying since you weren't always sure how much time was left on the microwave before it blew the breaker. Stafford Home came and installed a new outlet that was on it's own breaker for the microwave. Now, no more worries. The other project we had was to put in an outlet inside the kitchen cabinet that would hook up to the light switch and other outlets that were on that same switch. Both of these projects required running new electrical lines. I was very impressed how they put on shoe covers as soon as they got to my house. They also put down floor protection covers and swept the floor when they were done. Both men were extremely helpful and made sure I knew what they were doing next. I would definitely recommend Stafford Home to any of my friends.
Description of Work: We had Stafford Home Service do three electrical projects in our house. The first project consisted of putting in a new breaker for our microwave, the second was putting in a outlet for our under cabinet lights and the last project was putting in junction boxes for wiring in our laundry room.

The work was completed on time, but depending on inspection I may need additional work done, due to a frozen main breaker.  + -1 moreThe electricians, Steve and Chris, were very professional and efficient in installing the outside receptacle, wiring, and 20 amp circuit breaker and were able to utilize an existing entry point through the foundation block without having to drill a new opening. They used quality materials and upgraded the wiring capacity and circuitry of our home in the most direct and least intrusive manner with much of the new wiring hidden above the basement ceiling. Both were also very respectful of our property and cleaned up after their work which was completed in less than two hours. The work was initially scheduled for between 10:00 a.m. - noon on 09/05/2013 but was then rescheduled for later that day due to an emergency job at another residence. They worked beyond their normal work schedule to ensure that our job was completed on the same day as scheduled. Overall we are very satisfied with the service provided and would recommend Stafford Home Service to other homeowners with electric service needs.
Description of Work: Installed a new 20 amp circuit breaker and wiring, and a new outside receptacle to operate our electric lawn mower and snow blower. This is a dedicated new circuit.

 + -1 moreAfter getting estimates from a few different places, we decided to go with Stafford Home Service for their price and the quality and guarantee of their work. Our older home did not have a bath fan in its only bathroom. So, Stafford came and installed one. They had to cut a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom and also in the floor of our unfinished half story and also in the stucco exterior of our home in order to complete the job. They use a specific brand and style of bath fan unless you want to upgrade. The standard is a great fan! It's quiet and we have no issues with dampness in the bathroom anymore - literally, the mirror never fogs up even after my long, hot showers. They also installed a timer for the fan, which is what we wanted. It works great. The other great thing is that they guarantee their work for 5 years. They cleaned up and left everything as if they hadn't ever been there.
