"My experience with Handyman Connection was terrible. I will never utilize them again and caution others that are considering them. I had a exterior painting project that was quoted in May 2024 and the project was not completed until late September due to the poor work and damages that were caused to my gutter system that I found after they were “finished”. No workers came and informed me of the damages. So when the worker’s came to me to come and take a look at their work I found half my house was painted in a different color than the other half! Eight sections of my gutter system were damaged and needed to be replaced and my brown garage door was now a shade of purple! To top things 25% of the surfaces that were to be painted and included in the original quote was never painted! I was also not informed of this by the workers and found this out when I questioned them. I spoke to Management about my concerns and there was no rush to remedy the situation and no consideration to reducing the quoted price at all. They also left paint on a number of my windows and door frames and when you have bronze frames and beige paint splattered on them it is very obvious to the eye but no effort to remove those spill/drips. I could go on with the issues that I had but I will end by using a very popular saying “Caveat Emptor” or Let the Buyer Beware! They have some good reviews but I certainly do not have anything good to say about the service and the outcome I had with them. I will say the workers themselves were very nice but that’s as much as I can say nice about my experience."

"Jose is simply THE best painter out there. I have rated him excellent in each category because that’s exactly what he is( if not more) Let me start by saying, I’m a tough client. My husband and I are both Attorneys and we are exceptionally particular about detail and do our due deligence research before taking on any project. I contacted Jose for a consultation in November. He came out, showed up on time and I was immediately struck by how pleasant he was. He took time to do a complete and thorough walk through with me all over the house. I had a lot of questions. He listened! After the first consult, I changed my mind about a few things and reached out to Jose again to come out for a second walk through and a revise quote. Without hesitation he was there. We knew from the outset painting would be our biggest investment in the home, so we had to get it right. Jose met with me a couple of times at Sherwin Williams to help me pick out paint. Jose is patient and he truly cares about his clients. We closed on our home On February 1st ( but planned to move in on February 28th) and Jose was at our house on February 2nd at 6am to start work as he had promised. He spent the next 3 weeks at our house EVERY day from 6am- 6pm! I had to drive past the house every morning on my way to the gym , and every day, without fail, his truck was parked in the driveway Early in the morning. He took one day off during that entire time. His work ethic is second to none. I was floored! When he started painting the main walls, one of the colors that I had chosen, didn’t turn out the way I had expected. Jose had already purchased all the paint and painted a good amount. I walked in, utterly disappointed at the color and Jose , without hesitation said “ don’t worry kiki! I’ll go back and buy the color you want . It’s your house and you have to love it “ no additional labor charge, no additional charge for paint - nothing! He simply repainted all the walls to the new color. Jose is meticulous. He pays attention to detail. He is diligent, he is consistent. He cares about his work and his client’s satisfaction. Jose speaks perfect English, though we communicated in both Spanish and English.Jose finished 1 week ahead of schedule . After he was done, we did a complete walk through and any area I thought needed more coverage, he repainted for me. This has been THE BEST contractor experience I have ever had . I’ll never hire another painter ever! I e found my forever painter! Thank you so much Jose. You completely transformed our home into our dream home. Muchas gracias ?"

He gave us a written bid on what the project would cost and a timeline of when the project would be completed. His cost was very reasonable. He provided all the paint and supplies needed. He always took special care of the property and always cleaned up after himself. He completed the project on budget and on time. It was a pleasure to work with Steve and we would be happy to use his services again."

"Seven or eight years ago a storm rolled through the western suburbs of Minneapolis doing $40,000 to $50,000 in damage to our home. We hired our usual contractor to repair the damage. He did a good job on everything except our beautiful cedar deck on the south side of our home. When the contractor completed his work, our deck looked like it was covered in mud. The deck’s previous splendor became a distant memory and I resisted spending time on the deck. Nearly three years ago our house was in need of repainting. I stopped at our local paint store (the stores all the pros go to) and asked an acquaintance who has worked at the store for many years if he could recommend a painter to do high quality work. He gave me three names and I contacted all three. David DuBose the owner of Cutting Edge, Inc. came to look at the project on a Sunday afternoon. I told him straight-up that if he wasn’t confident that he could return the deck to its nearly original condition he should not take the job. He took one plank and told me he would get back to me. A short time later he told me he was confident he could bring the deck back to near original condition. At my request, Dave gave me a price to repaint the house, and a separate estimate to refinish the deck. I gave him both jobs. Dave contacted me about two weeks prior to the time he felt confident he could begin the project. As promised, Dave and his crew arrived right on schedule, ready to work. One or two members began preparing the deck and the remaining crew went to work preparing the house for paint. The house was completed very quickly and Cutting Edge did a GREAT job. The deck was completed a few days later and I could not have been more pleased. But the true test was time. Now, nearly three years later, the deck still looks brand new and you can’t get me off the deck. Just last week (03/2022), Cutting Edge completed a maintenance project on my home’s interior. Enamel trim (20 years old) had cracked and stained cabinets were showing wear and tear. A week of concentrated work by one of the Cutting Edge, finish guys and everything looked nearly as good new. I can’t say Cutting Edge is the least expensive in the short term. But I sincerely believe that quality work and quality products make Cutting Edge the best long-term value for the money. I have managed and developed a significant portfolio commercial property professionally since 1979. I highly recommend David DuBose and his Cutting Edge crew without any reservation."
