I called Dave to setup a home inspection on a property we were considering for purchase, on very short notice on a holiday week. I actually called him on July 4th, expecting to leave a voicemail, but he answered, and was great to work with! He scheduled the inspection for 2 days later, on a Friday morning, even though he already had a busy day. He didn't skimp on the time he spent with us, and we never felt rushed. When we arrived (late) he had already taken a pass through the house, and began to walk us through every detail of what he'd found. The reason I chose to use Comprehensive was because I liked the previous Angie's List reviews that stated that Dave used the inspection as much as a learning opportunity for the buyers as a formal inspection. I'm sure he'd be just fine if someone preferred he just did the inspection, and gave them the report. Dave was definitely a talker - very personable, he shared many anecdotes from his experience, and was able to help us understand potential implications of issues by using real-life stories. He made the process enjoyable! He was very candid with his opinions - first asking if we wanted them - and recommendations on products for the home, etc. At the end, after we felt very comfortable with everything, we left while he finished his report. He asked us to call if we ever had questions, and was very genuine. I would feel incredibly comfortable calling him for recommendations on handymen, or other services we need - he seems to know everyone in the business! In addition to the feel-good process, Dave was incredibly thorough on his technical inspection - while we don't have a lot of basis for comparison, I was amazed at the level of detail he went to, and his knowledge of such a wide variety of things both indoors and out. HIGHLY recommended!!

Dave and Neil were extremely helpful and educational in their inspection of our new home. They spent more than 3 hours with us walking through and around the entire property, educating us about construction materials and systems, and offering useful anecdotes and tips along the way. The house was new construction, and they pointed out many features we had not yet noticed, and made recommendations for things we never would have thought about, such as which kind of laundry hose to use. Overall, we felt confident that they were experienced professionals and knew exactly what to look for. Their thorough inspection and the number of features and functions they pointed out gave us a strong sense of security in this major purchase.

We met with them and then they took us though every part of the house explaining everything as they went. They were very thorough and helpful!

Beginning with my first request-for-information phone call to receipt of the final report, this was a good experience and worthwhile service. My husband's and my goal was not to find the least expensive inspection, rather we were more concerned about the inspection process and the usability of the report format. We do not plan on selling, but we are long-time homeowners and the house has some deferred maintenance needs; we need to know what we don't know. Comprehensive Inspections Inc. (CII) was very clear about what to expect before setting up the appointment. They arrived on time and again explained what to expect, which my husband found helpful. We were impressed by the thoroughness of the review, and especially appreciated the team's willingness to explain what they were inspecting and why, and graciously answered our questions during the inspection process. We find the report thorough, easy to understand and it will be the basis for helping us plan our home maintenance priorities. CII offers itself as a resource after delivering the report and we would not hesitate to contact them as needed.

David and business partner Neil were willing and able to come out that afternoon I called to assess our problem. I was very happy about that since we were leaving on vacation in 2 days and wanted the basement water situation figured out before we left to give us peace of mind while we were away. They did an extremely thorough job of looking both inside the basement and outside the property along the house where the water was coming in. They took many pictures of problematic areas that are causing our basement to flood and spent over an hour diagnosing and explaining why and how water was getting into our basement. They were both very friendly, personable and professional. We feel very confident that the information they gave us will alleviate our basement water problem. Also all the information and pictures taken were e mailed to us the next day so we would be able to follow their advice step by step. Very pleased with these two and if and when we finally find ourselves able to sell our current house and move we will most certainly call them to inspect any property we would be interested in purchasing. Very impressed!

Before the inspection, I outlined a number of specific areas that needed to be inspected. Items included the roof, plumbing venting, attic insulation and foundation. At the day of inspection, Comprehensive showed up on time. The process took the estimated amount of time. The inspectors were interested in telling me how the house worked, not the shape of the house. There were a number of areas that I pointed out to the inspectors that they missed. The same day, they forwarded me their report. It was incomplete and missing many of the items that were discussed during the inspection. Some of the items were rather important such as the GFI not working in the master bath. I pointed out the missed items and they redid their report. Some of the particular items I specifically asked for inspection were labeled on the report as: Roof - contact a specialist for inspection, or couldn't access attic to inspect. They could have inspected but fudged their way through it. If you want to learn how your house works, this is a fine firm for you. If you are looking for an indepth inspection to examine construction defects, I would try to find somebody to better fit this need.

I first started researching companies on Angies List, and companies that were referred by my realtor. After making several phone calls to all referred companies and companies with honors on Angie's List, I got the best vibe from Dave. He really seemed to know what he was talking about, and had plenty of years of experience under his belt. It didn't so much feel like a sales pitch, it felt more like a man who just knew his stuff and didn't have to fake it. Dave asked that I be present for the entire inspection because he likes to look at it as an educational experience, and seeing as I am a first time home buyer- i'll take all the help I can get! So, come morning of inspection, I could tell right away that I'd chosen a very good team. Both Dave and Neil were VERY informative, and knowledgeable, and had an answer for every single question I had. They taught me little tricks to maintenance or even certain products to use or stay away from. Based on things mentioned, stories told, and examples given, I felt very comfortable with trusting both of them with their advice, and I also felt very good about the moral and ethics this company holds. The seller (bank) screwed things up and the dewinterization was not done properly, the plumber was an hour late to turn on the water, and the gas was not turned on. Dave and Neil were patient with the wait, and very thankfully so because when the water did get turned on it started pouring out of the ceiling. Seeing as it is a "non-invasive" inspection, they were unable to tear open the ceiling and find out the problem. But they were able to tell me what it was most likely, and tell me what I'd be looking at for repairs. They gave me straight forward answers and advice, and were not concerned with falsely leading me towards purchasing the home with damages just to make the seller happy. I could not have asked for a better experience with the inspection, although we did not find the house in manageable condition as I was hoping for. I learned so much, I thankfully dodged a bullet in buying a home that could have turned into a complete nightmare and money pit, and I believe 100% that I got my money's worth. Not only do I plan to use and recommend Comprehensive Inspections to all and anybody that I know, but my realtor also hired them that same day to do another job for them because they were also very impressed with their quality of work, and the ethics of their company.

What a great team! It took about three hours for the process, and it went very smoothly. When they had finished the inspection, they went over the items that they found and then followed up with a very detailed written report. We plan on using this company again when we are ready to put an offer on our next home.

What a great experience! The inspector that evaluated our home was Dave and he did a fantastic job. He actually made the experience educational and very interesting. As he performed the inspection he explained a lot of things about construction, different options available for home building, how to maintain functional parts of the house, and several things not to do when performing general home care. I felt he was thorough, efficient and very generous with his time and information. He is clearly very knowledgeable.

The person who came out was really well qualified. He knew what he was talking about, and did an incredibly thorough job. He found places in the house that I didn?t even know of. We are very, very pleased with him. He was very competitively priced too. Inspections generally aren?t cheap.

It?s a single person who is the owner so he?s the only one I had to deal with. He was very professional and seemed to know a lot of stuff. He was pretty free with his knowledge and letting us know how things work. He was here for about four hours. I have recommended him to other people.

He spent four hours checking the house with us. He looked at everything in the house and gave us a lot of information about caring for our home. At the end he printed a 24 page inspection report of our house for us. We felt very confident that we knew exactly what we were buying. This inspector was recommended to us by a friend whow also had her home inspected before a purchase. She was also very happy with the work he did. When our daughter bough a house recently they also hired him

I had a really great experience with them. The customer service was fabulous. Dave is a great guy. He gave a thorough report and even gave recommendations for what to watch for and check as a new homeowner.

Our real estate agent, Jen Geisinger (top realtor on Angie's List), suggested Dave for our inspection. I accompanied Dave on the inspection and learned more than I ever would have thought. Not only did he thoroughly explain all the details of the inspection (i.e., what he was looking for, etc.), but he also did a phenomenal job of providing me with advice on future maintenance of the home. I'm confident the maintenance advice Dave provided will save my family money down the road by avoiding unnecessary service calls. I could not be happier with Dave's service and expertise. Plus, the inspection and other details were provided in a written report immediately following the inspection.

David did a fantastic job explaining what he was looking for in every area of the house. He went above and beyond inspecting the home by also covering what to do for normal maintenance on an older home. He took his time throughout the home and answered all of our questions.

Found substantial problems with the house which cuased us to withdraw our bid. He performed the inspection as we were moving to the area and we were able to coordiante over the phone. The inspection was very detailed. It turns out that he is the current president of NAHI (National association of Home Inspectors), his prefessionalism really showed. You can tell he takes his time and takes the job very seriously.
