"I paid 1/2 down 9 months in advance for a decent size repair job after electricians dug in cables. The job was to fill voids and hydroseed. After they were finished there we still trench and 25% of the hydroseeding was not complete. I tried to get Mike to look at the job by contacting him via phone call and email. The work was to be completed in May. On June 14th after several emails and voicemails, he told me he would come over to review the project one evening. He never showed up and in September after not hearing anything else from him I got a bill for the remainder of the project. When I too, d Mike the project was never completed he spoke with other people that told him it was completed. It is very hard to discuss what is growing 5 months after a project was supposed to be completed. We had to pay others to do the work and some of the work was done by people here. I would never recommend Mike Hvezda or Rockwood Landscaping. Buyer beware!"

Algae growth is a common issue for misters, but you can do several things to prevent it. First, use a sealed water tank with distilled or filtered water to fuel your misters. Second, blow out the misters after every use so no water is left in the tubing. Third, thoroughly clean the misting system every several weeks of use at minimum during the warmest months. Third, wherever possible positioning tubing and the water tank away from direct sunlight and in the coolest areas possible.

Lifespans vary by material and manufacturer, but pond liners last anywhere from 10 to 75 years. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pond liners have a life expectancy of up to 20 years. Other types of pond liners, including those made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), can last 40 to 50 years.

In addition to length and width, pond liners also come in various thickness levels. Thickness is measured in mils, a unit of measurement equal to one-thousandth of an inch, with most pond liners ranging from 15 to 60 mils in thickness. The smaller the number, the thinner (and weaker) the liner. To prevent rips and tears, it’s best to choose a pond liner that’s at least 30 mils thick.

Most home misters use several cups of water in a couple of minutes, or around a gallon per hour of use. That varies greatly depending on the size of the system and the power of the pump.
