As above. It went perfectly. Highly recommend these guys.
Description of Work: We had a switch box that was old and shallow (back to back with one on the other side of the wall) that had a switch for the bathroom light and the fan. It was shorting out when the plate was put on. Randy's electric guys were terrific. They rewired it, checked the circuit breaker panel, offered to check smoke alarms. They were efficient, friendly, clean, and polite.

Adding a medallion required taking down the foyer light and installing the medallion between the ceiling and the light fixture. This was awkward due to the height of the light, but it was accomplished with some extra effort and it looks nice now. The two outlets had to be reinstalled because one of my earlier handymen had replaced the outlets without allowing for the outlets to be on a switch.

I had a oven that was switching off every 5 minutes, it was triggering the fuse in the basement to trip every 2-3 minutes. They sent an "electrician" and he looked at everything, which was a good thing, he took the ovens out and looked at the wiring, but after about 2-3 hours he couldn?t figure it out. Final straw was when the electrician wanted another $150 to change the breaker and he said the electrician said that even with replacing the breaker, he could not guarantee if it will all work. I asked him to put everything back into back and leave. When you call yourself a electrician you?re supposed to figure out the problem and fix it. In the end I asked the original electrician (ASPEN ELECTRIC) to come by and take a look, without me saying anything the first thing he did after looking things over was replace the breaker and clean up the wiring, now it works great, no issues what so ever. All in all a coupon is a great way to save money but keep in mind that your get what you pay for. I wouldn?t hire Randy again.

Response from Randy's Electric
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate your comments, however; please know that our number one position with every job is the safety of you, your family and your home. There are instances when we will not compromise the quality for the sake of doing a band-aid fix at an owners request. There are some who will, but our commitment is to your safety.

Scheduling with Randy's Electric was very straightforward and timely. Dave called before he was scheduled to arrive to advise on timing and he was running early, so asked if it was ok to start prior to the scheduled time, which I appreciated. I own a 1940 era home and so have all of the challenges associated with an older home, Dave walked through the house with me and provided his opinion on my questions and an estimate for the items I noted. I had several older style outlets and switches replaced, GFCI outlets installed, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, older model fluorescent light fixtures replaced, whole home surge protector, install of an LED fixture I had purchased separately, and a circuit board on my china cabinet repaired (this item made me particularly happy, as it hadn't worked for several years). Overall, I am very pleased with the work that was done, I smile each time I turn on the light in my cabinet. Also, the following week, I called Dave again as I needed some additional work and he was able to arrange his schedule to be available the same afternoon, much to my surprise. I am very happy with the work performed and recommend Randy's and Dave's services. A good electrician is expensive, but well worth it, as investing in the infrastructure of my home is very important to me to protect such a valuable asset.

Excellent. Dale provided the service. Professional, on time, very helpful. Can't say enough great things. I had Dale install 2 new light fixtures, replace some under cabinet lighting and install 3 dimmer switches. There was a service charge - about $50. I had an Angies List deal ($50 for $200 in service). Installatio, cost of a couple tiny candle bulbs, cost of a new florescent under cabinet light - -$434. Less the deal -- $234. I will definitely use Randy's Electric again for any electrical needs. They are great.

I think they were professional and did a an excellent job. I also got a quote for adding recess cans on different floors for my townhouse. That quote is ~$3500. Seems a lithe steep to me- but again I don't have much reference for electrical costs. Sometimes you pay a higher price for quality work. For things like this I also think I should use a true electrician versus using a handyman. Some handymen are pros and some not so much. I don't like to mess around when it comes to electricity for your home. They were polite and punctual.
Description of Work: I had a coupon form Angie's list or it could have been $200 more... Added conduit and boxes in garage for 2 receptacles on the walls. Basically added some outlets to my garage. Never have used electricians much so didn't know what to expect price wise.

We originally had the installation scheduled for last Tuesday but they arrived with the wrong ladder so could not complete the project. They came back Saturday morning and installed the light. Both of the reps were very professional and did a very good job. Would definitely hire them in the future. Only negative comment I have is that I thought they could have waived their $49.00 travel fee (or at least a part of it) since my husband had to take off work on Tuesday for no reason.

I didn't have such a good experience with them. I am not sure whether it was a misunderstanding or not. They came on-time and installed the fixture and they were great. Then the first thing he told me was they would like to do an audit and tell me all the things that needed to be fixed and I told I really don't want anything fixed except having this light fixture installed. He said that it would only take a few minutes and then came back with a big list of stuff and said that he will waive the service fee if you have us do any of this additional work. I said what service fee and he said there was an extra $49 that I have to pay as a service fee to them for showing up. I said I don't think that's in any of the final print of the Big Deal and he said it's just an understood thing and the person who made the appointment was supposed to tell you. I got very uncomfortable with it and ended up saying I do have a second light fixture upstairs I would like to get installed and he said he would waive the $49 if I had them do that work as well for an additional cost, so I ended up doing that, but I didn't feel comfortable with them. I felt a little bit like that I was misled. I purchased the Big Deal for $90, but ended up paying them $300 because they charged me $210 for installing the second light fixture.

Work was fine. He was very knowledgeable and professional.
Description of Work: Groupon . I paid $100 for $200 of service. I assumed that the work would be done at an hourly rate up to $200 worth. They had established prices for each thing I wanted done. Replace a receptacle, etc. I just wish I had known. My fault, I should have asked.

Electrician came out promptly and explained what he would have to do to find all the knob and tube wiring in my old home. This included punching holes in the walls to find the wires. Just the punching of holes in the walls would have cost about $1000 and that didn't include fixing the holes or replacing the wires with updated ones! The job would cost a minimum of $8000 and possibly 10-14K and we are simply not in a position to do this right now. I had to pay the $49 trip cost but I got an education so I guess it was worth it. I wish the person I spoke to on the phone at their office would have known more and could have told me it wouldn't work but she said it could be done and that is why I bought the Big Deal.

The results are fabulous! His advice regarding my kitchen resulted in more light than the more costly alternative I had in mind. He did what I wanted in the bathroom, and also suggested an LED light in the shower, which is perfect. He was also able to add an additional light switch, giving me two lighting options. Jeremy was friendly, informative, and a non-stop worker! I appreciated the fact that he cleaned up after his work, because it included sawing into the ceiling, which did make a bit of a mess.

The service turned out fine. They were thorough and they did give an itemized list of everything that they suggested could be replaced. That did catch me off guard as all of that does not need replaced. It made me feel like all of the items had to be replaced but I found out after talking with someone after the service that this was grand fathered in and those items did not need to be replaced. I would consider using them again in the future.

I scheduled an apt w/Randy's and just before I was about to leave work to meet them at my house, I called Randy's to confirm the appt. and I was told they would not be able to make my appt because they were very busy. Then they offered me $25 off on services if I rescheduled my appt, which I did. I'm afraid that had I not called them, I might not have learned that they could not make the appt, which would have been extremely inconvenient because I was leaving work to meet them at my house. On the other hand, I appreciate that they offered $25 off of services for inconveniencing me, which I took advantage of. Aside from that, Randy's was professional and the quality of work was good.
