"Nice hard working team. We were comfortable having them in our yard working. Weather (rain) played a part in delaying our project. End result is good."

"We have a lot of mature large trees in our yard and doing yard work ourselves became quite the chore. We had Stangls Stumps come out and he spoke with us about pruning the trees to make yard work easier over the next few years. He offered us a quote we just did not want to say no to and the next weekend had perfect weather. His team came out and our trees and yard look like a million dollars! I am so happy that we can move on to planting our garden and utilizing our yard without having to do additional maintenance at this time! We will be calling for fall prep too! Thank you so much!!!"

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Hey everyone,\n\nI’m looking at starting up a small lawn mowing business while I’m in-between jobs, and I’m currently looking to take on a few clients. If you or someone you know needs lawn care services, feel free to message me here or text/call me at (320)-250-8957.\n\nPricing will depend on yard size and fuel/travel distance. I’m willing to travel within a 30-mile radius of Holdingford. Willing to drive farther than 30 miles if there is more than 1 job that way!\n\nI’m dependable, hard-working, and looking forward to helping keep your yard looking good this summer.\n\nThank you!

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Your property is a prime candidate for leaf removal if you live near lakes or have heavily wooded lots. Homes near water bodies face issues with leaves washing in and degrading water quality. Low-lying areas and drainage ditches easily clog with debris. Heavy leaf mats smother cool-season grasses during the long MN fall. Address heavy buildup promptly to protect your turf and prevent standing water during spring snowmelt.

Helpful?

Schedule leaf removal when leaf cover becomes dense enough that you cannot see the grass beneath it. The practical window runs from late September through mid-November. Monitor local weather forecasts for the first hard frost or early snowfall, which signal an urgent need to clear debris. If you have oak trees, plan a final pass right after their late drop to protect your Brainerd property before winter hits.

Helpful?

Completing leaf removal prevents turf suffocation before the ground freezes hard. Clearing wet, matted leaves reduces slipping hazards on walkways and docks under early snowfall. It protects local storm drains from clogging and flooding. Long-term benefits include protecting Brainerd lakes from harmful phosphorus runoff and reducing severe snow mold damage. Proper leaf management also improves soil health over time by incorporating organic matter into the sandy local soil.

Helpful?

Watch out for local professionals who lack a clear plan for hauling and disposal, as the area lacks curbside yard waste pickup. Avoid contractors who ignore the late leaf drop of local oak trees or fail to account for early snowfall contingencies. A reputable Brainerd contractor will verify their liability insurance and understand local shoreline regulations. Always confirm they know the rules for working near the water edge.

Helpful?

Proper leaf removal requires multiple passes to handle the staggered drop of birch, maple, and oak trees. You must schedule a final cleanup before the hard ground freeze to prevent leaves from locking under snow and ice. Maintenance includes clearing gutters to prevent hazardous ice dams during the freezing MN winter. Properties near water also require specialized shoreline care to comply with local buffer regulations and protect water quality.
