I was having some issues with my lawn, mainly a huge infestation of Nutsedge. I asked him a range of questions related to this and other things and he responded quickly and at length -- on a weekend no less! I was very impressed. After seeing a promotion for a new type of sprinkler on his website, the Hunter MP Rotator, and after doing some research, I asked him to come over and install these and do some general consultation about the lawn. I already had some Toro sprinklers in place that were installed a couple years ago, but I was having some coverage problems with them. So he replaced the sprinkler bodies and nozzles. The PVC lines were already in place. The new MP Rotators are awesome! Much more even coverage and slow, deep watering that avoids pooling or flooding. He was able to cap a few of my heads as they were no longer needed. The new sprinklers project farther and overlap. If you're looking for a hard-working (he busted a** in the 108 degree heat that day), knowledgable guy (he's worked for Scott's, Toro, consults for Home Depot) that will make sure the job is done right, then I recommend Chris. His specialty is lawns. If you have one, you can't go wrong! FYI, I called some other highly rated companies on Angie's List and Chris was the most impressive, despite his lack of reviews here. I'm a bit of a gardening n*** and I can call BS on people who don't know what they're doing. Chris won't disappoint. It had a huge, thick, root system that was in the way of a fence we planned to put up. We talked to one contractor who came three days later and said he would charge $150.00. We then called Hoover tree service.
Ray Hoover showed up that very day with a very interesting piece of equipment! It was remote controlled. He helped us with our fence so we had an opening for it, and then he just went to work. That little machine hummed and ground and sawed and in about 15 minutes the place where all the roots were was now beautifully soft soil ready for planting! We were amazed!

Initially, I was pleased with the selection, color and patterns of roofing tiles. But when installation began, problems arose. They killed several of my plants by carelessly discarding the old roofing debris. They left a roofing nail on top of one of our A/C units that worked its way down into the grill and caused a very loud vibration. I had to call a repair tech out who charged me a trip charge to do a 2-minute job with a pair of needle nose pliers. I honestly thought the unit had a serious problem until they told me it was a roofing nail stuck in there. Stacy said he'd cover my expenses and subtract it from the invoice but never did. Then the leaks began. A few months after installation, we got our first monsoon storm and I went into the attic just to be sure there were no leaks, because that's why we had the roof replaced. Right away, I noticed that there were several sections of the roof with no wood underneath, just tiles thrown over a few feet of open space at a time. And I also noticed that the insulation was wet in various places, predictably. I contacted Stacy who sent out his crew a few days later to repair the leak and install any missing wood. Well, they did neither. Leaks continued and wood was still missing upon subsequent inspection. Called Stacy again and he said he'd be out personally to make sure it was done properly. He instead sent a foreman and crew. This time they did fix all the missing wood and said they sealed the A/C unit. Next storm, I found rain coming in again downstream from the A/C unit. Called Stacy again, he said he'd have to send out his \"A/C guy\" so they could lift up the A/C and shore it up underneath and seal it properly (which I was assured last time, by his foreman, had already been done). Nope. The Winter Storm of '10 saw more rain coming into the attic this time directly underneath the A/C. Emailed Stacy and he replied by saying he'd show up personally to make sure the problem was fixed. And he didn't show up. Stacy's attitude throughout has been very nonchalant. It's as if this is just typical to him and part of his day-to-day business. Definitely not embarrassed or eager to apologize and make it right. Needless to say, I've had it. Obviously, they lack the integrity and/or ability to do good work. Expecting them to fix what they've failed so many times to correct because they couldn't do it right the first time just brings to mind the old axiom about ignorance = doing the same thing and expecting different results. I still owe about $600 on the roof which I will not be paying as I will need that money to hire someone competent to fix my roof. If Prime Roofing thinks that's unfair, I can always turn over the documentation that I've been keeping in real time, including photographs, to any regulatory agency or court of jurisdiction and let them make the determination which direction future funds should flow in this very unfortunate relationship."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/az/mesa/prime-roofing-reviews-136810.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"MEISTER'S SHOWPLACE & GREENHOUSES","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"CINDY O."},"reviewBody":"They do a great job of giving advice and helping plan what you should plant."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mi/marquette/meister%27s-showplace-and-greenhouses-reviews-1929277.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"SCHUTZ'S TREE FARM INC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Bob T."},"reviewBody":"Schutz's Tree Farm is an excellent company. They have excellent stock and we have been very impressed by the trees they have planted, and we have planted. Example I planted 4 white Spruce trees that were large enough and required a small tractor to help us get in the ground, some three to four years ago. They were about 6 feet tall. They now stand over 15 to 20 feet high and are extremely healthy. We also planted 5 smaller white pines that were maybe 2 to 3 feet high and they are now over 10 feet high, everyone of them. The only problem we had with them were the deer nibbling on them over the winters but they have all recovered and are giving us privacy along our property line. We also bought over 200 seedlings form Schutz last year and this year. Most of them are doing well even with the extreme draught we are experiencing this year. Shutz trees rock. They grow their trees on some of the best soil in the world, since Imlay City is noted for its peat."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mi/imlay-city/schutz%27s-tree-farm-inc-reviews-378440.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"JAS PROFESSIONAL PLUMBING","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Dave C."},"reviewBody":"WE DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT SINK TO CHOOSE FROM; HOWEVER, THEY WERE ABLE TO SPECIAL ORDER IT. We hired them to clean up our 3 planting beds in the front of our house. These had been neglected for a number of years and it was beyond the scope of our abilities to clean out all the overgrown plantings. They did a very efficient job cleaning out all of the weeds, arranging the rocks to...

FAQs for plant watering projects in Marquette, MI
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
