We had found that the power to our AC was gone.? It turned out that the wire leading to the unit had gone bad.? During this trouble shooting it wad discovered that the breaker and wire were bare bones for what we had.? We upgraded the breaker and wire in the event the future holds a new AC unit that would require more power capabilities.? Also installed a whole house serge protector.? Was able to do all this work without putting any holes in our finished basement (which was assumed would be done).? Service professor also offers a maintenance program on our all the mechanics/plumbing of the house that seems to be a good value/service.

This went well. He spent a lot of time explaining their services. He did a nice job and he was very polite. He was on time and professional.

Steve came out looked at out situation and then quoted us what it took to fix our problem. Since this was a demand issue where our lift pump system failed due to age, I feel everything went as good as it could.

The electrician arrived and had an immediate solution to my initial problem. After discussion he suggested that I replace all the lights with LED lighting and thus avoid future problems. He had access to replacement units and the entire work was completed in about 1 1/2 hours. The ceiling looks much better and the lighting is much improved. The electrician was prompt and friendly. I would recommend him for a pay raise. I will be contacting The Service Professor for future electric work in our home. I highly recommend this service.

They were able to get here fast and replace an ancient laundry sump system that failed without warning. They installed a new sink tub, a floor mount self contained sump unit and all the required extras. I am not going to lie it was a lot more expensive than I figured considering the parts should have been around 750 or so by comparing to others. But at least it's fixed and done right.

The electrician was very hard-working and obviously experienced. He worked hard and did a good job. I wasn't aware beforehand that a sales pitch for a service contract would also be part of the visit.

The Service Professor's employees, Jeff and Marlin, called to say what time they would arrive and arrived on time. They identified themselves, were professional, polite, and kind to our animals. They explained what would happen over the next few hours with the removal of the old furnace and the installation of the new one. Everything moved along very well and we were kept up-to-date on the process. Marlin and Jeff worked very professionally and neatly. The job was explained very well to us. Everything was cleaned up spotlessly, and our new heater is fantastic! The service from The Service Professor is amazing! We even received a follow-up call the next day to make sure everything was working well. I highly recommend The Service Professor!

They were very responsive. Contacted me right away and were able to set up an appointment window on the same day. I was told there would be a $60 service fee. When I asked "You charge $60 to bid a job?" the service person said "We can waive it just this one time." They contacted me before arriving and showed up on time. John was professional and friendly. Some background on this bid: I received a quote of $1900 from another well known vendor in the area. I thought $1900 was a little steep. After pricing the parts, at retail, off-the-shelf prices, I couldn't spend more than $600. That puts labor, assuming 8 hours, at around $160/hour. I still felt like that was a bit much. The quote I got from The Service Professor was mind-numbing $5500. That puts their hourly labor rate at around $600/hour. I'm not averse to paying for a job well-done. But there is no logical justification for this job to cost $5500. None. At $600/hour, I could hire a neurosurgeon to do the job and it wouldn't cost $5500. At that rate, it is immediately clear why they are able to schedule same-day jobs. They can afford to be selective about the work they do, and only do work for people who don't question their exorbitant rates. I am absolutely stunned that this quote came in at 2.5X that of the other vendor. Let that sink in. It's like going to a car dealership and being told the car costs $20,000. So you go next door to another dealership, and that same exact car costs $50,000. I was hoping for a serious bid for a basic job. I left work early to meet the rep. because I thought it would be taken seriously. There is nothing competitive, fair, or professional about the quote I received. The fact they tried to charge me $60 to get that quote is laughable. And the icing on the cake is when they told me, if I signed up for the $9.99/mo service plan, they would take $100 off. The only thing keeping them in business are consumers who don't question quotes like this. Don't waste your time, or your $60. Find another vendor.

The gentleman who did the work, Jim Haynes is the epitome of that word: gentleman. Not only did he know his profession extremely well, but he completed the work in a timely fashion. He was kind, respectful and caring; about the excellence of the work and the service he was providing. He is employed at The Service Professor and I feel lucky to know he is someone I can rely on to help if I need plumbing work. Thank you, Jim!

I have not seen the work yet because it is at an apartment building that I own in a different city. But they were fixing a zone valve and did alert me that the water heater was leaking and might need to be looked at. So they had someone else come by 2 days later (without charging a show up fee) and recommend that the water heater was pretty close to failing soon. The water heater was 18 years old which is way past it's life expectancy so I decided to have it replaced. They did the work FAST and on the same day. But the other person that I requested an estimate from did not get back to me in a timely manner and I could have saved $700 going with someone else. But I would have probably had to wait a few days. So professionalism and timeliness was GREAT, pricing was not so good.

Technician was very polite and professional! Completed work and did not dirty my house. They are very clear with communication and they make sure you are satisfied before they leave. I highly recommend.

We got three more estimates and went with a competitor to replace our existing Carrier Furnace since they were over $500 less and offered the same rebates.

The quote provided was so considerably far out of scope that it was clear they did not actually want our business. This was the third quote we had received from Angie's List members and it was nearly 3K more than the other two which were within a few hundred dollars of each other. Clearly we did not carry forward with Service Professor, nor will we ever contact them again in the future.

I want to have nothing to do with them every again. Even my husband thought the guy was weird. We had to pay but he did not flush out the water heater. He said we needed a new one and he tried to sell us one. We did not want him back in our house. Someone who tells me my hot water can't be drained must be out of their mind.

Adam did a great job! He went through all of our questions and showed us different options and choices we could make on those and other changes. He worked steady and efficient until the whole process was done. He was experienced, helpful, polite, professional and we are very pleased with the work that was done. He gave us good advice and we made additional changes that will help us with our plumbing in the future. We would definitely call The Service Professor again. We are very thankful for their good service. We highly recommend this company for plumbing or electrical needs (we haven't used their other services yet but based on their previous work, I'm sure they'd do a great job).

They were professional on the phone. Came out the next day and the job was quickly performed before I even knew they were on premises.

I bought the Big Deal for $69 for a Furnace or Air-Conditioner Tune-Up, and opted to have the furnace inspected. I also planned to buy and have installed a "smart thermostat" untilI I learned the price, which was about 4 times the cost of similar thermostats. The good news, however, is the technician Tom DeHaan, who was really professional and helpful. I plan to replace the furnace eventually but am on the fence about using this company. If I use them I will need to do major research to make sure the cost is reasonable and normal, because a $600.00 thermostat is truly outrageous!

I had tried another local electric company to come out and repair but they were very slow in getting back to me after 2 attempts so I looked on Angie's List and after reading several reviews I selected The Service Professor. I was able to get in contact with someone quickly on 8/4/15 and was able to set up an appointment for 8/7/15. (Coincidently on 8/5/15 a friend had posted on Facebook that she received excellent emergency electrical service from The Service Professor so I was hoping for the same.) Roger S. was the electrician (same person my friend had) and he was on time and very professional. He went to work immediately after I showed him where the circuit breakers and junctions where located. Roger worked for about an hour trying to figure out where the problem was and at one point thought he had found the source which was some corroded wires, but once he cleaned them up and he flipped a light switch in the garage the power went out. He tried replacing the GFCI in an outlet and also the light switches to see if they were the cause, but no luck. He did call out another electrician from the company to confer and help check what might be the problem. After some more work they concluded that the issue was with the electrical line underground. Roger had given an initial quote $250 for the work he was already doing and when he quoted the additional amount $620 for doing the digging and replacing it was a slight shock. I told Roger I needed a bit of time to work out that portion and he stated the quote was good for several months if I needed that much time. Roger cleaned up the area and I paid the $257.00 for that days service. About 2 weeks later on I called to have The Service Professor come out and do the digging and replacing of the electrical wire underground. Roger was again the electrician who came out on 8/27/15 to do the service. He was again very prompt and courteous and after discussing where he intended to dig and replace the wire, he set to work right away. Roger had to work around 2 trees and their roots (the cause of the electrical failure). Roger was very thorough and did an excellent job. He even did a slight upgrade with the wiring going which would allow electrical upgrades in the garage later.
